The Sea Venture was one of the first ships to arrive in Bermuda. It was thrown accidentally off course by a hurricane and landed on the reefs intact. Its original course was with a fleet from England headed towards / Jamestown, Virginia to aid in the colonization. From being shipwrecked, the crew and passengers of the Sea Venture settled in Bermuda and benefitted from its tropical paradise and set up a small colony. This painting is a Mixed Media piece, combining original digital photography taken in Bermuda by me SBC, with my painting, and drawings. It is intended to capture the natural and surreal beauty of Bermuda through my eyes. This art won an Honorable Mention Award in the Rowayton Art Show in 2006 and First Place in the Darien Art Show in 2007. It is presently being considered for exhibition at the Royal Navy Dockyard Museum in Bermuda. Thank you for your interest, comments and purchases!

Echinacea purpurea (purple coneflower) with a dark twist. This was the first of my Dark Dreams flower series, most of which I have pulled from redbubble. It was also one of my first images here. Obviously it was photoshoped. I get a lot of questions about why there are scratches on it, it was to give it an old aged look. The texture would make it a great canidate for a canvas print… hint hint ;) This is the original: / I believe this is the largest image in my portfolio, and that is because it was taken with my old 35 mm SLR, then scanned in (I have a really good scanner that scans really big) If you are seeing this image in a group for the first time, that is because I just realized it wasn’t in any groups! I must have cleared it out to make room for newer stuff. This peice was my very first one chosen on the Featured Art page and was featured in Ebony and Ivory group. This one is about the connection we have with our loved ones, roses always speak volumes about beauty, love, romance…......and wanting to connect…...what happens we we give and receive roses, why do we give and receive them…..it’s really sentimental stuff…..ahh where would we be without all that roses say for us, through us, about us, to others :) I hope you like my “Sweet Rosie”.....these roses are for you :)
