Until recently, this rose had been living in a pot at my boyfriend’s parents property in Emerald. It had never flowered, and when we brought it to our place, it was almost dead. I’m not much of a gardener myself, but he’s managed to get it to flower after a couple of months care. It now has four flowers, and the whole plant looks extremely healthy.

Romance is back. I needed to work on an image with a touch of warmth today as it’s -7 outside. This art started out as a photograph of a black-capped chickadee sitting on a cedar tree branch in the woods behind our home. / After several hours in Photoshop and Painter X this is the final result. Every pixel of this piece was re-painted (digitally) by hand to give the image a painted look.
