  • A macro shot of an orange/yellow/red leaf

  • This photograph also appears in my 2009 Calendar Macro of Tiger lily in the evening sun. / The light in this photo comes from the descending late afternoon sun behind the bud. It was so strong at this one moment that it created the glow you see emitted from within the flower. I took this photo from the sidewalk along Peachtree Dunwoody RD in Atlanta, Georgia. Now available in a larger print /

  • When I set-up to take this photo the outcome was not my original intention. In viewing the picture after I realized I had been blessed with far more than I had hoped for. God works in mysterious ways does he not! My initial aim was to photograph the black eyed susans in my garden with a nice dark background. As it was mid evening, and the sun was setting in the horizon, this was the end result :o) FLORAL GALLERY / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST /

  • A pretty, and vibrant, bouquet of orange gerbera daisies. This is the non-cropped version of the image featured on W/S recently. FLORAL GALLERY / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST /

  • Ranunculus flower – to cheer us all up on these dark days of winter (well it is dark in this hemisphere – no accounting for those of you who live on the upside-down side of the planet, rofl!) ;o)))

  • Nikon D300, Nikkor 105 micro VR. / I thought I would share my good news with you all. My image of Rudbeckia hirta ‘Marmalade’ has been awarded 1st prize in the plant portrait category of the RHS photographic competition and given me my dream of becoming RHS photographer of the year 2008.

  • Many thanks to all the moderators for the feature in the Stillness Speaks Group on May 2nd 2009 ! I was lucky enough to spot this awesome, intricately patterned Moth resting on a Dahlia in the yard. Image As Is straight from a 6 MP Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S500. F-stop: f/5.6 / Exposure time: 1/160 sec. / ISO speed: ISO-80 / Exposure bias: -1 step / Focal length: 5mm

  • I had never noticed a flower in this state of decline before. The petals had browned and curled over on the ends and it actually looked more visually striking than a healthy bloom on the same bush. This floral montage was created in Paint Shop Pro by enlarging and cropping the original photo and making it the base layer. Then I extracted the flower from it’s background and placed it on the layer above, at 100 % scale. I adjusted the Layer Modes to soften the contrast of the enlarged Layer, so that the small original stood out from the background image.

  • An untouched macro capture of a Gazania. Thanks to Shanina Conway for telling me what it’s called ! :)
