I was resting in the Fitzroy Gardens, Melbourne when I noticed this scene. Just above was a group of Rainbow Lorikeets yelling at me (also photographed!) but this simple composition stood out to me. There was something old world about the texture and shape of this old tree and I wanted to reveal the detail of it without being so close that it lost its identity and form. There were so many beautiful palms in the Kimberley. This was taken at Zebedee Spring’s in El Questro Station. A magical thermal springs of cascades, pools and palms. I could have spent hours here (we did!)

Original photograph taken at the Kooragang Wetland Centre in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales. I duplicated the base layer, applied a couple of filters to those copies, added a few tinting layers, and adjusted the layer modes to change look of the piece.

Many dreams are forgotten or lost by the time we awaken fully, but that is not usually the case with dreams of flying. Flying dreams are very often a precursor for lucid dreaming; a dream state in which we are aware we are dreaming and can manipulate the outcome of the dream. Freely flying as high or as low as you wish using your arms or feet for direction, often with the ability to do acrobatics in the air is an indication that you feel really superior about something in your life.
