Hit The Floor / by / Limp Bizkit / There are just too many times that people have tried to look inside of me / Wondering what I think of you well I protect you out of courtesy / Too many times that I’ve held on when I needed to push away / Afraid to say what was on my mind / Afraid to say what I need to say / Too many things that you’ve said about me when I’m not around / You think having the upper hand means you gotta keep putting me down / But I’ve had too many standoffs with you it’s about as much as I could stand / So I wait till the upper hand is mine One minute you’re on top / The next you’re not, watch it drop / Making your heart stop / Just before you hit the floor / One minute you’re on top / The next you’re not, missed your shot / Making your heart stop / You think you’ve won / And then it’s all gone So many people like me that put so much trust in all your lies / So concerned with what you think to just say what we feel inside / So many people like me walk on eggshells all day long / All I know is that all I want is to feel like I’m not stepped on / There are so many things you say that make me feel you cross the line / What goes up will surely fall, and I am counting down the time / Cause I’ve had so many standoffs with you it’s about as much as I could stand / So I waiting until the upper hand is mine One minute you’re on top / The next you’re not, watch it drop / Making your heart stop / Just before you hit the floor / One minute you’re on top / The next you’re not, missed your shot / Making your heart stop / You think you’ve won / And then it’s all gone / And then it’s all gone / And then it’s all gone / And then it’s all gone / Now it’s all gone. / I know I’ll never trust a single thing you say / You knew your lies would divide us but you lied anyway / And all the lies have got you floating up above us all / But what goes up has got to fall… One minute you’re on top / The next you’re not, watch it drop / Making your heart stop / Just before you hit the floor / One minute you’re on top / The next you’re not, missed your shot / Making your heart stop / You think you’ve won / And then it’s all gone / And then it’s all gone / And then it’s all gone / And then it’s all gone / Now it’s all Gone.
From an old Nursery Rhyme Goosey, goosey, gander, / Whither shall I wander? / Upstairs, and downstairs, / And in my lady’s chamber. There I met an old man / Who wouldn’t say his prayers! / I took him by the left leg / And threw him down the stairs.

I took this photo in London on a rainy day where there is nothing else to do as… right, go and see lots of museums. Unfortunately I cant remember which museum this was as I visited 3 or 4 on this day (it was really really rainy). But it was one where u could see from an upper level down to the ground floor.
The Terrace Floor is part of the Series “The Trees”... Leaves pressed into the stone, broken twigs, moss, detritus of stains that have remained over the winter, imprinted forever by feet walking over them…small creatures living in the shelter of the leaves….nature’s own art work that changes every year…this is my interpretation of the relics of the seasons. Watercolour and Acrylic on Board….. Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away; / Lengthen night and shorten day; / Every leaf speaks bliss to me / Fluttering from the autumn tree. / I shall smile when wreaths of snow / Blossom where the rose should grow; / I shall sing when night’s decay / Ushers in a drearier day. Just a fun little infrared base image, duplicated and multiplied in the Layers Palette, then added to it is my wonderful Crown Fritillary butterfly that I tinted a bit differently to suit the sunset mood, and I added the setting sun streaming through the tree branches. ;-)
So we were on another of our photo hunts… my husband, our best friend and me. We peeked into a teetering old barn, and there were chairs set up in it. We left them as is…. and snapped our photos. I couldn’t help but wonder what they had been placed there for. This was just one of them.

Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery The Magic of the Forest Floor Goblin Forest Walk, The Blue Tier, North East Highlands National Park, Tasmania, Australia. As Is – Straight from the Camera The_Blue_Tier The Blue Tier has been the home to thousands of people who have lived, worked and died on the mountain. Tin was the reason the early pioneers came here. The tin lay in heaps behind rocks and in the creek and river beds. All the miners had to do was bag the ore up. / In their search for the tin-bearing rock, these early pioneers burnt most of the temperate rainforest which existed above the 600 metre level. When the mines were finished, the farmers over-grazed the grass areas which followed the burning, eventually the mosses took over. / Since the last grazing, around 1970, the mountain and its native animals have been successful in aiding the regeneration of the temperate rainforest. What you see today is the continuing struggle of the rainforest trying to return. / To appreciate the extent of the regeneration it is necessary to visit the various areas by following the well-defined walking tracks on the mountain. There are bogs, grassland, pure rainforest, regenerated rainforest, tea-tree swamps and areas dominated by celery top pine. Canon PowerShot A650 IS Shutter Speed: 1/60sec / Aperture: F4.8 / ISO: 320

....and he left his name tag behind!! I took this after an evening of rubbing shoulders with 100 Elvis impersonators and bands in Baltimore, MD, Night of 100 Elvises. It’s very John Watersesque. Ha! It’s an event that is always sold out. My band has been fortunate enough to perform there for the past 13 years and I always say that it’s my favorite night of the year! ! Did you know that 20, 000 years ago, almost all of Canada and the Northern United States was covered by a giant glacier. When the glacier melted, it left a tremendous amount of water all over Ontario in the form of lakes, rivers and wetlands. There are many kinds of wetlands , that you are probably familiar with like marshes, swamps and bogs but the one before you is actually a FEN. Biologically, wetlands like marshes are among the most productive habitants on Earth. They receive plenty of light and water, which makes them perfect for plant growth, and they provide food for many animals. Wetlands like bogs and fens, however tend to be less productive because their water is stagnant, cold, low in oxygen and nutrients, and acidic. Nonetheless, they are “Home Sweet Home” to many perserving plants. Would you consider having a BATH in a Fen? Probaly not, but waterways can be compared to bathtubs, to illustrate how they function. Lakes are like giant rocky bathtubs, connected by pipes (rivers and streams) that keep water, oxygen, and nutrients flowing in and out. A bog is like a SEALED bathtub with no water exchange so it becomes stagnant. A FEN is somewhere in betwen a lake and a bog. It is like a bathtub that has LEAKY sides (so ground water flows in) and a leaky DRAIN ( so water flows out). Black spruce, one of the first, cold resistant trees to follow the retreat of the glaciers, is one of the best fen and bog dwellers to grow here. Peat, (dead vegetation) tends to accumulate also in it rathre decompose because the conditions are inhospitable to bacteria and most fungi. Sometimes this peat can be many meters thick. The stringy roots of the Blue Spuce intertwine through the spongy MAGNUM MOSS mat and it survives on a minimum of nutrients, growing slowly, managing to sprout only their branches. Magnum moss can absorb up to 200 times its weight in moisture! How old do you think these trees are? One tree with a diameter of only 5cm., was found to be 78 years old! Now that folks is a SUPER-SPRUCE Interesting NOTE: In Europe people have actually died in bogs and fens, and their bodies have been found in perfect condition hundreds of years later Info gleaned from the Ontario Provincial Parks pamphlet guide. Location: Taken on the Fen in Blue Lake Provincial Park in Northern Ontario. Camera Details: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi, 55mm Lens, Aperture exp 5.6, Shutter speed 1/400, ISO 100
