  • A salute to my favourite INXS song “Johnson’s Aeroplane”. “From a small aeroplane, you can see the sea. Lots of blue, very deep blue”. This week I had the incredible luck of flying in a 4 seater plane and having my first try at aerial photography – great fun!! It was such a fantastic day and Perth was looking its best on a 27 degree spring day. Thanks heaps to Malcolm the pilot, Mum and Dad!! :))) For enquires about canvas prints, or photographic prints larger than Redbubble options, please contact me via bubblemail

  • Dawn at Garie Beach in Royal NP just south of Sydney Australia. / Being near an international airport is a bugger for night shots but it does tend to make the dawns just that much more spectacular. This is the vapour trail from a dawn takeoff. I like the way the sun looks anchored by its own light while the light from the vapour trail soars. / What a magic morning this was. Got a bunch of shots I was happy with and then after taking them I decided to wander over to the rock platform just next to the sun in this shot to watch the rest of the sunrise. There were about a dozen fishermen silhouetted against this sun with orange waves breaking over the rock platform in front of them. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better two huge whales surfaced right in front of where I was sitting – about 100m offshore. Everyone stopped what they were doing and just watched their graceful rise and fall through the water, spouting their breath mist against the dawn. It was actually good to have the camera packed away and just to sit and watch.

  • Background shot- location, south west coast of South Australia mermaid stock / . / . . /

  • Southern Gannets in close to the rocks feeding on cuttlefish and squid. The image is a composite all shot within 30 minutes. It is an initial long exposure with a wide angle lens. The birds were then shot at the same location in the same session with a telephoto lens and “dropped in” during post processing.

  • I combined 2 images taken in South Florida. The pelican was flying over Pompano Beach. The sunset was taken on the West coast. © T.Russotto – / My work is NOT public domain and may NOT be used, modified, or changed in any way without my written consent.

  • Black headed gulls taking off from sandy beach in Devon. Watercolour by Ruth S Harris Original available for sale.

  • I often dream I’m flying through the clouds over the mountains and the ocean…... Oil on Canvas 80 X 80cms SOLD

  • Cross-processed with a TTV overlay – and the bird actually did fly across the scene just as I pressed the shutter! Corio Bay, Geelong. /

  • I’d like to be able to say that when I was composing this shot I saw the plane taking off out of frame and worked out its trajectory would take it just over th e sun as it was rising, but I can’t :-(. Truth is I was so focussed on the rising sun I didn’t even notice the plane til I downloaded the shot and started working on it. So this is actually a tiny crop of the original landscape orientation I shot it in. One of those serendipitous moments you don’t even notice at the time. Taken from Bundeena Cliffs, Royal National Park just a few moments after Streaming to the Dawn. Another stumble upon going through the archives. Canon 30D / Tv: 1/15sec / Av: f/11 / ISO: 100

  • Coastal Mantra Series- Flying Meditation has been nominated for the prestigious Pay it Forward Group by Kellie Cranmer of Kcranmer Art Kellies quote to the group in submitting this image was: ”I chose this image because of the simple beauty it brings. Sometimes you can get the best impact by a bird flying…as nature would intend it to do…and Lina captured it so beautifully!! Also…Lina is one amazing soul. She is the type to care for others before herself (I feel that in her so much)...so it is my honor to nominate my friend Lina to the Pay it Forward…You deserve it girl and so much more!!! xoxoxoxox” I am completely honored. I feel Kellie knows and understands how much Art has healed my life and continues to open up the creative connections that fill me up to the brim. They are such a majestic site as they float over the ocean on their 2.5 meter wingspan. Unfortunately, 1000s are killed each year by long-line fishing.

  • There are times when even the most common can be so refreshing … I had a bit of fun getting these fellows to pose for me, and I froze my butt-off whilst doing so. ~Taken @ Aldinga, Sth Australia (looking South) As a Card...

  • Yes, another sunrise taken from my workplace in Port Hardy, BC on Vancouver Island. It’s the best part of my job, to enjoy this beautiful scenery every time I look out the bay & Mr. Eagle put an added beauty to the scene! In 16 years, so many different colors and so many eagles! I have seen the worst and best that this bay has to offer! Hope you like and like always, thank you for viewing my point of view!! I recently had a small accident and off for a few days, catch up time in RB world. Keep smiling… / /

  • / / This is the same shot that I used in this piece by Sally & I. I manipulated it some to get the picture Wings. / / Taken at my workplace in Port Hardy, BC on the beautiful Vancouver Island!! Thank you for your support and viewing!! Hope you like! /

  • This is Noosa North Shore, looking North towards the coloured sand cliffs, and Double Island Point. The cliffs are on fire, and much of the precious sand dune cover is going to be lost. Errosion is inevitable, possibly from an irresponsible camper lighting fires in a total fire ban, or the back-burning error made by the councils. Smoke can be seen to the left of this shot, limiting visibility along the beach. Still, this is one of the most beautiful places I have been, and the wildlife here, with the many eagles is just magical to witness. Even the pipi birds, gannets, terns, and seagulls (a seagull in flight in this shot) are awe inspiring! Canon 5D Mk II, 35mm, 16:9 crop. Available very large, and best viewed large!
