Took this image at Second Valley one very cold Winter’s night!

Basham Beach, Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia
The last remains of the old Port Willunga jetty, South Australia. Port Willunga Beach was recently named as the only Australian location in ‘Travel and Leisure’ magazine – hip travel list of emerging destinations. This is still one of my favourite locations to photograph and is only a 40 minute drive south of Adelaide. Pentax *ist DS – DSLR. Also available:
Taken under the Rapid Bay Jetty on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia
A morning that started with a sunrise the that was totally blocked by thick clouds. However, the clouds started to part and I was greeted with this view of the incoming waves squeezing through every crack in the massive granite boulders that litter this stretch of coast
Argus House is a wonderful cafe / craft shop located in Strathalbyn on the Fleurieu Peninnisula in South Australia. It is a two story heritage listed building, and the food is absolutely scrumptious!
Second Valley, Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia / The tiny cove of Second Valley is surrounded by sheer cliffs and steep coastal ranges. It is popular for fishing, swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving. Easy walking trails enable exploration of the unique rock formations. The name is derived from being the next valley north of Rapid Bay, the initial camp on South Australian mainland of Colonel William Light. As the cows feed on the pasture in the gully below the sky bursts into colour as the sun sets over the Southern Coast and Ranges of South Australia. No wonder Hans Heysen loved this area. Please view this image large so you get the feel of the rolling hills being drenched in the warm glow of the setting sun.
Heavy rains at last – but taking top soil and silt with it as it flows across a small waterfall at Currency Creek, Fleurieu, South Australia. A powerful stretch of water but very brown in colour!! Shot with a Canon 400D, 2 second exposure, 18-55 lens with ND4 filter.
Last light again, looking South from the Causeway at Victor Harbor along the Esplanade across the ocean. Quite dark and brooding but available lighting was troublesome here. Canon 400D, HDR and adapted in Photomatix 2.5. Best Viewed large.
This was the going down of the sun, Cactus Canyon Rd (back in May). / Sunsets speak for themselves, rather.

Now I have always wanted to take a shot like this, and when I popped the camera on zoom and followed this bird into the sun, I wasn’t sure where he’d end up.. luckily, in the photo.

A break in morning storm allowed a bit of sunrise color as the tides flood a bowl like depression in the limestone along the beach at Encounter Bay.
A stormy sunrise at Knights Beach has the waves surging through every crack in the limestone.
