  • Garlic and chilli prior to being mortar and pestled for bolognese sauce. They were crushed along with a dash of virgin olive oil, whole black and red peppercorns, rock salt and fresh basil picked from my garden. Eventually cooked and simmered slightly with a brown onion, a dash of red wine and kalamata olives thrown in the mix along with some chopped fresh tomatoes. • Sri Lankans take great pride in their cuisine, often taking hours to prepare mouth-watering and colourful meals. It’s the many different fresh herbs and spices and the methods used to prepare them that makes meals so delicious. Rice is the main staple and is usually eaten in some form with every meal. If any Londoner had chosen to brave Saturday’s blistering 18’ and shuffled down to one of our more fashionable districts and into a certain Demo Store, they’d have had their awe neuron shattered as an immense wave of ‘excellence in t-shirt design’ overcame them. Yes, the winners of our most recent Sound tee competition have hit the shelves, to the delight of 12 million shoppers and considerably more pigeons. Let’s once again put our mouse down and our hands together for the clear champions Ine Spee, Cathie T, Scott Robinson, Nick Ford and DieselLaws. That’s enough words, show me those pictures…... This is the mannequin they’ll all eventually get displayed on. / Ine Spee’s Whistle Boy in the front window. / And I was just about to swear at these people for ‘being in the way’ when I realised they were photographing Ine Spee’s top in the window, so instead I gave them some chocolate. / Good work on all fronts, to Demo, to the winners, to everyone who entered, and to all of you for voting efforts. Bye

  • My Exhibition hangs...

After 3 very hectic weeks of choosing images, ordering prints, fretting that my canvasses wouldn’t arrive in time, spending hour after hour pacing the house trying to decide how to price an image, and generally getting myself in a fluster, I’m very happy to say that my first Solo exhibition is finally hung & in situ at Flavours Gallery until January 15. It’s been quite a learning experience…. Thanks so much to those of you who helped me choose my images – 20 in total – some of which I would never have considered, purely because I can be somewhat scatter-brained & don’t tend to check my own gallery as often as I should! I settled on using 13 redbubble matted prints with re-usable frames. / Thanks Mel for pointing out the benefits of being able to sign the images before they go into the frame. The gold pen works a treat on the black matte! / I also used 7 canvasses from another source (because they gallery wrap), which thankfully also look fantastic! I’ve been busy pasting Flyers all around town, & dropping my name at local media outlets, not to mention boring all my facebook & twitter followers with updates & launch dates. / Thanks Deb for suggesting the Flyers….. it never crossed my mind! I managed to take some pics on the day that we hung the exhibition for you to have a peek at. Thanks to all of you for your wonderful support in this exciting venture….. it’s been so much fun :)) Thanks also to my beloved Husband Robert….. he’s supported me in my creative pursuits since the day he met me 18 years ago. This is as much his achievement as it is mine. xxx / The First image goes up… / This is Craig; He’s the Gallery owner. And finally : you can’t beat a sandwich board for drive-by advertising! My very good friends drove by yesterday, saw the Sandwich board & didn’t stop!!! Thanks guys ;-) /
