  • This building was once home to the largest used book store in Newfoundland. They had over 100,000 books at one time many of them old and rare. The owner decided to sell everything off cheap and retire. The historic building has been empty now for a couple of years.   • A shot of my home’s cellar – mostly unchanged since it was built 150 years ago. I rarely do such texturally based photography, the pealing paint, the aged stippled wood, the old glasswork; all that crumbling stuff, I ended up photographing it on film and digital!

  • ...Hubby&I were taking our morning constitutional when we came across an old Roan gypsy’s horse..he was all tangled up in his tether and couldn’t reach his water bucket about ready to expire in the heat and looked very sorry for himself..so as hubby freed him a white dove flew over his head and we went on our our way..well talk about karma!! that afternoon there was a horse running called Flaky Dove ..needless to say hubby won a lotta money on him lol!! ..a first experimental creation using my tablet to paint it then used layers of colour layered the feather blended+graphics ….Love the one your with in ‘Inspired art’....

  • So much rust about which is no suprise with metal next to the sea. So much to photograph I could have a whole exhibition dedicated to rust ! / Nikon D200 / ISO 200 1/125 at 5.6

  • This is a Very modern, new, contempary part of the Leeds City Centre, but seeing this flaky wall, you wouldnt think so. / It is a little stair-well connecting the back of the train station, ‘Princes Exchange’ with the new River Aire Water front, running parrallel with Whitehall road. / /

  • Blue paint flaking on a table outside the Poet Laureate pub, Poundbury, Dorchester. I took this shot to add to my growing collection of images to use as texture layers, but I like it as an image in its own right. Canon Ixus 970 IS

  • Taken at Southwold Harbour Suffolk 12.9.09 Simon and I had had taken refuge at Southwold after a very perculiar start to our day and we needed to find food as way past lunchtime and calm our nerves. The light was beautiful and it was quiet, it was just what we needed after a near miss with a car, stranded in a field which was meant to be a main event car park we sat their on our own, and had a sharp reply when we had stopped for a sandwich we had our heads bitten off by the bar staff for asking such a thing, and a car deciding to reverse into the spot i was already reversing into, hehe did not even see me / We had a lovely lunch and stroll with the cameras and headed home, but lets just say another odd miss with another car and we decided we where in the twilight zone Lol Nikon D90 and 18-105vr lens Focal length 105mm / F/. 20 / Exposure 1/80sec / IS0 450 Hand held ,Aperture priority, Processed in Efex Pro 3 just tweaked.

  • Even though they were old, flaky and stacked off to the side, I couldn’t help but admire the burst of colour they gave to the dark corner they were stacked in. I’m always amazed that when you take the time to look, beauty can be found in such unexpected places.
