This photo was taken from the moon roof of my car as it was raining. That day I had gone out to take some photos and the flags were at half staff because of the death of a soldier in Iraq. It reminded me of 9-11 which we remember today and it seemed like tears from heaven. Such a sad day in our history plus a sad day still for families that still lose loved ones. We will never forget 9-11 and those that died needlessly due to terrorism. Also those that went to serve,protect and to heal we pay tribute to those that gave their lives’ that day.

In Tribute to our troops and to all of those who were effected by Sept 11th. / This is my tribut to them! / God be with you. All proceeds from this sale will go to the / America’s 9/11 Foundation To me this is a powerful message. It brings tears to my eyes everytime I read it. / From the thoughts of that day to the current issues at hand. Well, I’m not a big flag waver, but I do have a lot of respect for my country. We have our problems just like everybody else, but we do stand for freedom. Freedom to express ourselves without worrying about reprisals. Which it what I’m doing here. I know a lot of you are not from the US and that’s fine. A lot of your ancestors migrated here over the past 200 years or so and that’s what makes this a great country – the diversity. I salute our soldiers who are defending freedom, as well as our allies who partner with them. May the Lord keep them from harm’s way. And may He continue to bless this great country – the USA. This is an image of Courthouse Rock in Sedona Arizona. I took the image of the flag on a recent trip to California. Captured this antique Ford being serviced in Williams, Arizona. Eddie’s Tires is located right on historic Route 66. / I like seeing old cars still in their pre-restored state, and this one was a beauty! Almost felt you were driving down Rt.66 in it’s hayday, and this would have been a common sight. / This is an HDR image, then applied the dodge & burn technique which I just learnt about and just had to try.

I happened upon this lovely bench painted as the American flag while on Coronado Island near City Hall. The sun was setting. No one was around. Isabella’s voice giggling in the distance for me to hurry and catch up. It made me stop. And stand directly in front of it. Almost demanding respect. My heart beat faster. My throat lumped full. I felt sad and proud all at once. Instinct almost forced my hand to my heart. Instead it was my camera to my eye. I would like to dedicate this image to all our fallen heroes and their loved ones; please know you will be remembered and appreciated forever. (This image is a composite of three photos, one of a soldier at Fort Polk, Louisiana, one of a flag taken at Spanish Lake in Iberia Parish, one of a country road connecting the rice fields near Kaplan, Louisiana. The background layer is the rice field road; I selected and pasted the flag and the soldier onto this background and used the sliders in the layers palette to control opacity and to give them an other worldly look. The background had the Orton effect applied. All this was done in PhotoShop Elements 6.0 for Macs). This image was inspired by Mark Graham my husband’s cousin, who gave his life in Iraq
