I don’t know that man.He doesn’t talk ,walk ,hear,see…he ’s closed to the world.His wife comes every day,she’s younger than him and I can see a lot of affection in her eyes but everybody knows she has somebody else in her life.She puts a little hat on his head ,cover him with something warm and bring him to the balcony,even if it’s cold outside.One day,at the beginning of my shift,I went to get him for super ,the hat was covering his eyes and since he couldn’t move,he looked like a Mexican taking a nap …I smiled but at the same time I couldn’t help myself thinking how much he must be raging inside cut from the world like this …in fact I WAS RAGING inside for being so helpless toward that man. / posted later …. / He died a few weeks after I took this shot,both hands never openned….....Gigi

This design is somewhat a bit of a classic. Inspired by a 70’s reggae compilation this image was my first go at stenciling a few moons ago. This one here is a later re-designs of the original … I still like it, it’s strong and powerful and it’s got drips!!! Here is an artwork with that stencil from my flickr stream:

So, after an email from Lucan advising that a large surf company had in fact produced a VERY similar tshirt before me, and after some navel contemplation on the drive into the day job, I have decided that RPS stays! I had not seen the other design, nor heard of the furore it caused. Their tshirt (thanks again for the link, your Lordship) clearly shows Messrs Churchill and Hitler. Mine has silhouettes of anyman, and they completely neglected young Adolph’s hatred of black people, which I consider to be an integral part of the design I have produced. I also consider the message to be VERY different ….. mine anti-war – and is by no means trying to trivialise the loss of life and appalling treatment of our fellow man during WWII. And besides, what’s the point of having a submission to AP if you can’t be just a teeny bit controversial??

I walk away…I give myself a time out instead of giving her one. I found her in my arms once with that look on her face….she was scared. / I wanted to throw up. / I live everyday comparing myself to my parents. I’ve learned everything I should NEVER do from them. / If I do the opposite of what they would have done we might just be O.K. /
