Colourful houses stacked onto the hillside around Brixham harbour in Torbay, South Devon, with the setting sun perfectly complimenting the illuminated shopfronts on the harbourside. A single trawler is moored beside the quay safely home from a day of fishing. The fishermen had their catch of the day, as did I. View the rest of our portfolio here Or visit our own website here

Portrait of a False-Clown Anemonefish, Amphiprion ocellaris This host anemone’s amazing golden is unfortunately caused by bleaching. Similar to corals, when the water gets too warm the symbiotic algae in the anemone is expelled. Layang Layang, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia
False Bay in Fish Hoek on the Eastern coast of the peninsula of the Western Cape, near Cape Town, South Africa. I’ve deliberately been excluding man-made objects from the majority of my landscapes. I’ve been contemplating a new theme for my pictures… for now I’ll start including more man-made structures in my sea- and landscapes. I’m also enjoying DCE tools HDR of late. I appreciate any honest crit, please dont hesitate to point out what you dont like.

Description…well its kinds obvious, its a Cod in a Cave ;-) Ok, its a Black Cod (Epinephelus daemelii) sorrounded by Eastern Pomfrets (Schuettea scalaripinnis) at Fish Rock Cave (http://www.southwestrocksdive.com.au/) off the Northern NSW Coast, Australia (http://tinyurl.com/a99zm4) Black Cod are classed as a “Vulnerable” species, they are not yet and hopefully will never be endangered. Follow the 2 links above and from one you will see a drawing of Fish Rock Cave. This dive site is one of the must-do dives not just of Australia but of the world! The classic Fish Rock photograph is similar to this one but with Grey Nurse Sharks so it was great to get this shot, particularly as the Black Cod are relatively shy and tend to run and hide when divers approach. This shot also features in one of my calendar’s

Rockhopper This species of penguin occurs in subantarctic waters of the western Pacific and Indian Oceans, as well as around the southern coasts of South America. The Southern Rockhopper Penguin is classified as Vulnerable species by the IUCN. Its population has declined by about one-third in the last thirty years. Their common name refers to the fact that unlike many other penguins which negotiate obstacles by sliding on their bellies or by awkward climbing using their flipper-like wings as aid, Rockhoppers will try to jump over boulders and across cracks.
I hope you can enjoy the rustic view which exists in this shot I took of our camp house in Mineola! Thanks so much for viewing my portfolio! I appreciate your interest in my work! Smiles Leilani
Re visiting some older folders of images. This one shows an old ‘fish trap’ fence that was built out into the waters of the ‘Coorong’ National Park in South Australia. Late afternoon light working to creates silhouettes with the remaining fence posts. Canon 400D – 18-55 lens CIR Polarising filter.
