Eastpoint, Florida, USA, is the real deal. Fishing is the town’s lifeblood, though it’s getting hard to make a living that way. They take these boats out onto Apalachee Bay almost every day, using long tongs to pluck the oysters off the bottom. Local restaurants and markets sell the oysters fresh. This was taken early on a Sunday morning. The boats are still in twilight as the first rays of the sun start breaking into the sky. Other than the shimmering of the water, a lone seagull provides the only action. “Eastpoint At Dawn” / —Featured in the group “Florida the Sunshine State” / -Featured in the group “Harbour Life” / —WInner of monthly avatar challenge in the “Harbour Life” group. mixed media on canvas 24” x 20” i made this piece when i was in the beginning of a 5 year relationship…. much love and awe going on. the creation began with newspaper on canvas. i have always loved the colors in the grocery store adds… and all the fruit. i don’t remember having a plan for this piece as is usually the case. it appeared to me. as you can see, most of the newsprint is painter over…except the apple and the space around it that forms the eye. the pink and stripes and a few changes on the male character came more recently….after we separated. i have a picture of it before. maybe it should go on red bubble, too. i celebrated when i sold the original for 1200 dollars. the relationship was over and i felt it appropriate that it find a new home …...and it did. it lives in california now. partnership as sacred…...

The dew sparkles on the leaves as the sun’s rays slowly warm the air, evaporating the mist.
