I am sure this image will not appeal to everyone but for me it illustrates of nature in balance and the Circle of Life. A coho salmon lies in the shallows of a small pond near Mendenhall Lake near death trapped by receding water after spawning. It will provide food for the bears of eagles now that its eggs have been deposited.

Whiskeytown Lake, West of Redding, CA taken this morning 03/23/08. Heading West on HWY 299 from Redding CA, this is just a short and beautiful drive; well known due to the dedication in 1963 by President John F. Kennedy; this is gorgeous man made lake with excellent fishing. Species include but are not limited to Bass, Crappie, and Trout….Excellent swimming areas set aside for just that by the Parks department, and excellent camping available in well maintained camp sites.
