  • First fish Freddy of the original Siamese Fighting Fish clan, blasts off in his bowl. His mission, to avenge the insults levelled at his earth cousins, by grumpy humanoids. Aggressive and down in the mouth, indeed! He would show them, the water in his bowl was adjusting for space flight, shimmering slightly as the shock wave passed and he entered orbit. Soon he would shut down the hyperlink wormhole drive, drift gently into suspended animation, and wait. He clutched his shoalshifter, armed with the latest IRBMs (inter-reef ballistic missiles) and smiled, not that anyone would have noticed. He drifted into a deep sleep, as his bowl iced over and sped towards earth… My offering in a three-way collaboration. ChrisW wrote the story, “Dinner With Fighting Fish” and will add a ref photo. If my image fits Chis’ concept, then master paintograher, Cliff Vestergaard, will weave his magic. 5000+views

  • I did this piece very quickly . It was drawn at A3 size. Scanned in and colored at 600dpi. It’s full of detail and includes dome of my favorite things in the world around me. I’ve entered it into a local exhibition competition. There was no theme other than giving designers a chance to express themselves anyway they want to. The greatest and most perfect designs are all around us. The animals, the plants, the mountains…everything that is naturally formed. These are the things I admire the most. The beauty of fauna and flora, the dead or alive. Perfect and not by design…it just is. Play and Worship

  • So this little known place is probably the closest I will ever get to tropical paradise. Its called Wayag, and is a group of Islands off the Western Coast of West Papua in Indonesia. Its quite a story about how I got here (i hope to write it up some time soon), but I want to pay full credits to my friend Simon Mammino for his assistance in getting this shot. Take a bow mate (and now get back to work). Nikon D200 / 10.5mm

  • Acrylics (16×12 inches) I imagine that there is a place just like this, somewhere in Ireland. And maybe there is good fishing in the stream.

  • Angler fish really are quite remarkable creatures! They live in the deep deep sea, further down than the light can reach, so to lure their prey in total darkness, they have rigged up a system of light emitting devices. They are not turned on here (as he is in the light, and they use up a lot of power so he only turns them on when he is hungry). Watercolour, chalk pastel, ink, conte on canvas.

  • Another in the Masters series. / This is the centre part of a long panoramic watercolour. By Thomas Bush Hardy, 1895. I’ve moved some of the boats to be closer together, as my version is a small painting, 10×7 inches, on rough Bockingford tinted cream paper, 140lb. I will be painting the full length seascape in the future.

  • Whither are we going? Can we replenish what we have used of the earth’s resources?

  • Painted for an exhibition called “Inspired By Nature”. Feel free to come along if you are in Perth… here are the details: “You and a guest are invited to attend the opening night function of / Inspired by Nature, Paintings by Interactive Arts Members - / Vivian Bonder, Carmen Cilliers, Ruth Jeffery, Stacy Kershaw, Ann Land, Narelle Manser-Smith,Fiona McKay, Caroline McGrath, Anthony MacLeod, Kay Merrin, Carol Scott, Julie Sutherland. / Wed 28 January 2009, 6 – 8pm / Wine Tastings by Arimia Wines / Venue (old MOKKA store) 890a Beaufort Street INGLEWOOD This painting is acrylic on canvas and measures approx 40×75cm For those of you who read my journal recently and how chuffed I was about getting a water lily in my new fishpond… the inspiration is pretty obvious. Also, it was good to experiment using the acrylic in a different way – and I love the spiritual symbolism of the lotus flower.

  • natural design is definitely a favorite subject for me . Hope you enjoy . Captures take in fort Myers, waters, Florida USA . Florida has so many great places to paddle. No state can match its variety of water – lakes, inlets, lagoons, rivers, streams, springs, ocean and a gulf – accessible 365 days a year! And, there seems no better way to explore this vast network of water than by canoe. It’s easy to cast away your cares and find peace and relaxation among Florida’s matchless beauty – there’s nothing like the quiet of Mother Nature to soothe and give you a fresh outlook on things. An added bonus is the many opportunities to see wildlife along the way – white and blue herons, turtles, alligators, and sandhill cranes to name a few. So, pack a picnic and test your spirit of adventure… discover the “real” Florida. Almost 50 of Florida’s State Parks permit canoing, with over half of those offering equipment rentals, so no matter where you are in the state, chances are you are close to water. Here are some of the more popular locations for setting out on your adventure… source of info
