What a dare and dashing heart he has! ! / To enter bravely in the middle of ocean, / His desire comes true in the heart of ocean, / As well as, floats over in the hands of ocean. He carries a net to make his hope fruitful, / Bless him to return to his home with bliss, / When he is in boat, he faces up and downs, / By the continuous movement of sea waves. A trouble makes him to struggle to come from it, / His struggle brings the thought of fish life in net, / Oh God! Save him when the sea troubles him, / As You have power to control the power of sea. This sunset photograph was taken in Donsol, Philippines in January 2007, and shows two fishermen going home after a day of fishing. I myself had had an unsuccessful day of trying to spot whale sharks, but this sunset made the whole day worthwhile.

These two dedicated and undaunted rock fishermen were photographed from Tacking Point, at Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia, on a sunny winter afternoon. The swell was perfect for this kind of break and the anglers were in good position to be on intersecting “Rule of Thirds” lines for a good composition. The break was way more than I had hoped for and the winter afternoon light was magic. Detail from the night performance named the Folk Song Festival of Liu Sanjie, which is presented outdoors in the Shanshui Theatre near Yangshuo, China. It’s a performance like you’ve never experienced, staged along the Lijiang River and 12 Peaks. Breathtakingly beautiful show. This photograph was not enhanced – shot with 300 mm lens length. “Liu Sanjie Blue” won an honorable mention award in WIPI’s 2008 international juried photography competition. In life as well as fishing it’s all about the journey! / As the sunrise burned through the fog early Sunday morning, on Clear Lake near Hunstville, Ontario, two fishermen enthusiastically set out for their favourite fishing spot… / This shot was as a result of an early morning walk in / August 2008 in the fog: part planning, part serendipity. For some reason this reminds me of a scene from Moby Dick… minus the whale of course. / / I was actually going Cod fishing with some friends for the first time off the Eastern coast of Newfoundland…. just had to bring the camera of course. Those clouds on the horizon kicked up such a fierce wind and it created some very large swells that relieved me of my lunch lol!
