This isn’t so much cool, atmospheric fog as it is extremely dense air pollution in the Chinese capital of Beijing. Just think : athletes will be running for 42km in the marathon through air of this quality if they don’t do something (like forbid anyone from driving a car or lighting a fire or burning coal for a couple of weeks during the Games)

In the distance, barely discernable on the rocks a lone fisherman stands. An unhappy fisherman it seems, giving his subsequent threats to call the police. Clearly it is his beach, his rocks, and clearly I was there for no other reason than to take his photo for some nefarious purpose from all of 200 metres away. Clearly I was going to use his image, and his intellectual property, to make my fortune at his expense. So disappointing for me that all that beautiful light, that tranquil water, those startling red rocks, the pink hues in the sky, and the distant cliffs prove to be such a distraction to the true purpose and subject of this shot.

A random drawing that a friend of mine wanted me to come up with… of course, with an example, but changed quite a bit, giving it my own style and color – edited with photoshop too as well. This would make a great T-shirt!

Taken at sunset while people were bringing there boats back up the launch ramp and preparing to head home. Taken at Swan Bay in Queenscliff, Victoria, Australia. The conditions were terrific, no wind and the water was dead calm. HDR from 3 exposures in Photomatix, and did some minor changes in Lightroom. Click here for my other seascapes

These fishing boats were donated to the fishermen of Chennai (Madras) after the Tsunami of Dec 04. This was one of the 10 Salvation Army boats that I could see.

Umm… Somewhere in the south coast of Sri Lanka, possibly Unawatuna, not entirely sure though. / Anyhows, stick fishermen who spend the day sitting on sticks and… well, yes, fishing. It’s quite an awesome sight actually… it’s like a ‘forest’ of sticks on the water. And there were a LOT of them! I think it’s a very traditional method of fishing, especially where you have rocks like this creating a calm area in which they can fish. / I also got a very nice wood carving of a stick fisherman, it’s sitting on my desk right now lol / Found this shot after a huge sort through of some old shots from Sri Lanka- and realised that I had missed quite a lot of shots! / Hope you like!

Fishing shacks located in Plymouth,Ma which are located on the pier. You can go fishing, sightseeing, or buy bait! Commerical fishing boats as well as other crafts are housed in this harbor! Historic Plymouth has the Mayflower ship docked as well as Plymouth Rock for tourists to envision days gone by! Taken with a Canon XTI.

On Cape Cod in the town of Barnstable a small inlet moors many boats. When the tide is out, the boats sit on the sand and the clam and scallop fisherman come and try their hand at getting dinner. Taken with a Canon XTI / f/8 / 1/4000 / ISO- 1600 / focal length- 24mm
