If the fish could talk ,they might composed a Symphony together. with a deeper look into their atmosphere…With a deeper thought they actually composing a delightful poem through their magical colours and movement in Deep water. A painting done in 1996/7. Mixed Media on Silk. About 90 cm x 175 cm. This work was part of my home for several years, until I gave it as a gift to someone , who love it. The bottom photo show you the original work (at my home 1997), with it’s original use of colour. This Newdibranch was tucked away under one of the Faroud’s life boat cranes( on Malta’s south west coast). A difficult one to get as i had to contort myself into a bit of a wired possition lol, and in a drysuit that is not easy.

A pair of pipe fish get together to share some piping hot love on a recent dive trip up on the Great Barrier Reef. The red belly on the top fish indicates it is mating, or looking to mate. It was wonderful to find two of these little guys together at the same time. Nikon D200 / 105mm VR macro

Grey Nurse Sharks hang out off the NSW coast. Grey Nurse Sharks are known as Raggy Tooth Sharks in South Africa and Sand Tiger Sharks in the US. They are endangered in Australia, particularly in New South Wales waters yet the government has only made a half hearted attempts to protect the species. This shot is taken at Fish Rock, a known GNS aggregation site. While I was diving here several boats were fishing in this “protected” site (couple of hundred meter radius)...protecting = no anchoring for the fishing boats…..a joke! Several of the sharks in this shot had hooks in their mouths. Its a big ocean, there has to be a balance (I eat fish), conservation and marine parks are good for the fishermen as well….sustainability is the goal. http://amcs.org.au/ SAY NO TO SHARK FIN SOUP! Well not quite,heavan would be munching on the arm of starfish for these little guys.This little shrimp was found on a shore dive at Seraya,Bali,Indonesia & was about 20mm long / Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas & a safe new year,thanks to all of those who have shown their support its always appreciated
