First fish Freddy of the original Siamese Fighting Fish clan, blasts off in his bowl. His mission, to avenge the insults levelled at his earth cousins, by grumpy humanoids. Aggressive and down in the mouth, indeed! He would show them, the water in his bowl was adjusting for space flight, shimmering slightly as the shock wave passed and he entered orbit. Soon he would shut down the hyperlink wormhole drive, drift gently into suspended animation, and wait. He clutched his shoalshifter, armed with the latest IRBMs (inter-reef ballistic missiles) and smiled, not that anyone would have noticed. He drifted into a deep sleep, as his bowl iced over and sped towards earth… My offering in a three-way collaboration. ChrisW wrote the story, “Dinner With Fighting Fish” and will add a ref photo. If my image fits Chis’ concept, then master paintograher, Cliff Vestergaard, will weave his magic. 5000+views

As a child, my treasured stuffed animal (as all children tend to have) was a little squirrel who went on every kind of adventure with me, and my favorite story was about a lil’ squirrel named “Miss Suzy” – written by Miriam Young, and illustrated by Arnold Lobel. I love the thought of the tiny leaf-boat capturing the attention of the denizens of the pond as it passes by en route to a wonderous place. January 10th, 2009 – WOW!! The Penguin Parade is located on Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia, only 140 kilometres south-east of Melbourne. It is part of Phillip Island Nature Park. The area is a reserve designed to protect and promote awareness of Little Penguins (previously called Fairy Penguins). The first night I was on Phillip Island I went to the Penguin Parade. Each night at sunset, the world’s smallest penguins, the Little Penguins, emerge from the sea and waddle ashore to their sand dune burrows with bellies full of the days catch. I was amazed at how far they travel from their burrows. The elevated boardwalks and viewing stands allow you to enjoy all the ‘penguin action’ without disturbing them or their burrow homes. / I stayed on the platform and watched them for two hours, getting soaked in rain storms and freezing winds…........was worth it !!! And yes it was Summer LOL / / BTW you are not permitted to take any photographic equipment into the boardwalk/ platform area. This shot however was taken at The Nobbies area on the side of a cliff. The penguins are a bluish colour and are so adorable, was hard to leave. / Jan 08

This was taken hanging out of the side of a boat on The Perfume River in Vietnam. My boat was moving past these guys in one direction and I was quickly losing time waiting for him to launch his net.
