  • I visited the North Island of New Zealand in Febuary 2009 and was lucky enough to get out for a dive to the Poor Knights Islands. Famous for its good sport fishing and even better scuba diving ever since they declared this area a marine park. This pigfish swam past me to make sure I was legitimate. Unfortunate name for this species but very nice colours dont you think? Diving was done with Yukon Charters, Tutukaka.

This molray eel wasnt much of a barker but it was shopwing off its scary fangs for all to see. I managed to hang around long enough to shoot off a few frames and get a decent portrait. • The Fingal Head Lighthouse located at the Northern end of NSW just over the Qld border, was erected in 1872 of stone, and painted white, the tower had a fixed white light of 1,000 candelas. Even though the light tower is not high and it is built on a low headland the light is effective as it is built on one of the most easterly points of Australia with plenty of deep water offshore. The original kerosene wick burner was converted to automatic acetylene operation in 1920 with an output of 1,500 candelas and altered to group flashing. The one keeper was withdrawn at this time. There is no record of the opening of this light considered so insignificant that apparently the first keeper did not think the matter of sufficient importance to take a record of the official opening. / / / Taken October 2008 4 2pm / at Fingal Beach on the nsw Coast just South of Qld. / Camera Panasonic DMC F27 / 6mm / F/5.6 / iso 60

  • The St. Martins-Quaco Head lighthouse is an active aid in navigation of Atlantic Canada’s Bay of Fundy, which is home to the highest tides in the world. At a height of 38 feet, it contains an automated horn, and, of course, a light. “Quaco” in Mi’kmaq means “Haunt of the Hooded Seal.” Learn more about High Dynamic Range imaging at HDR Photo.

  • An orange lobster boat located at the Beverly Marina in Beverly, MA.

  • I have wanted to get down to do a night shoot at the Mount Henry Bridge Jetty for a while now, The last time I went past they had a big fence around it blocking access, And I haven’t been back for a few months. I finally got around to getting down tonight and saw that the old wooden jetty has now been replaced with this brand new jetty. Canon EOS 500D.

  • A wave breaks against rocks on which a fisherman is standing at South Durras on the New South Wales south coast.
