The correct New Zealand pronounciation of Fish, :-) Anyone from Australia or New Zealand will understand this, maybe others too hehe
acrylic on paper 14”x17” / Dancing in lighted pools of Jello-textured neon. “That’s the way to do it,” an old stranger called to the young man who, being suddenly aware of what he was doing, stopped, looked over his shoulder and glanced down at the ragged multi-colored sheet that was pulled tightly around his shoulders. He leaned back and peered up at the sun. Smoke rose from the side of a brick building and the odor or ginger floated through the air. The source of both puzzled him, as he remembered distinctly thinking he was the only person in the world just a few moments before. The old man smiled a toothless smear of flabby lips and bowed down to the dancing youth, who smiled back, jiggled aimlessly for a few seconds on thin, scratched legs and then sat down on a patch of grass in from of a building that had been painted by clowns. The young man pulled back the corner of his gown of rainbow hues and let out his heart, which had been beating all along, but in being freed, started to do a dance all of its own, though it had no legs. It also sang, which surprised the young man as he had always thought he was mute.

Ever dreamed of sneaking away to a quiet, tranquil spot…lush vegetation, hearing the sounds of the forest and spending the day relaxing, reading a good book and having the most yummy picnic? / Well here is a little oasis I created. This ole 35mm color slide I took of Stinson Lake NH a number of years back…with post editing I wanted it to look like a painting. I hold fond childhood memories of this beautiful lake and cabins we rented during the summer when I was a young child…my Uncle would take me across the lake in a canoe or small boat to a little country store and I would buy something for a nickle…this place still holds much spirit/magic for me. Would love to visit it again in the summer and stay in one of the four cabins for a week… / / /
This shot was taken at the ocean beach in Spring Lake, New Jersey. / June, 2008
Vibrant, flamboyant panting of the colorful homes and harbours found in the Atlantic Canada provinces and in the Maine, New England areas. I spent many vacations with my family in these beautiful quarters and there is something so heart warming about the architecture, harbours, the many seaside shops, cafes, and restaurants; and of course the beautiful ocean and all the fishing boats and seagulls. It reminds me of summer and the way it should be.
