Cute starfish lying on the beach in a bikini.
These hussars were hanging effortlessly in a strong current. I had to swim like crazy to stay in the same place and wait for them to shift their formation to get a good composition. I love the way this image looks so serene and still, yet all I can remember is how fast I was breathing and how hard I was swimming!
The beautifull but deadly jelly fish. this was taken at dusk and lit from slightly above. Shot taken at Cirkewwa Malta.
This artwork is based on a shot I took, while shark diving in Australia in November. I’VE GOT SOMETHING IMPORTANT TO SAY. / Sharks might become extinct, if we don’t do something, and it might hit the human race harder than we think. / Sharks have been here for millions of years. They are at the top of the marine food chain, and keep balance in the ocean. / If sharks disappear from our waters, it will have serious consequences for the ocean…and there by for humans as well. Sharks are not evil killers! As I was surfing a bit in Australia, I know how it feels to see a fin behind you. It’s not the funniest thing to see, but we have to remember, that we are in their waters. My last point. More people get killed by pigs, coconuts, and vending machines, than by sharks! OUR PLANET NEEDS THE SHARKS, AND SO DO WE!!!

A random drawing that a friend of mine wanted me to come up with… of course, with an example, but changed quite a bit, giving it my own style and color – edited with photoshop too as well. This would make a great T-shirt!

Grey Nurse Sharks hang out off the NSW coast. Grey Nurse Sharks are known as Raggy Tooth Sharks in South Africa and Sand Tiger Sharks in the US. They are endangered in Australia, particularly in New South Wales waters yet the government has only made a half hearted attempts to protect the species. This shot is taken at Fish Rock, a known GNS aggregation site. While I was diving here several boats were fishing in this “protected” site (couple of hundred meter radius)...protecting = no anchoring for the fishing boats…..a joke! Several of the sharks in this shot had hooks in their mouths. Its a big ocean, there has to be a balance (I eat fish), conservation and marine parks are good for the fishermen as well….sustainability is the goal. http://amcs.org.au/ SAY NO TO SHARK FIN SOUP! Walk out of restaurants that serve Shark Fin soup and let them know why! This image is not sharp, almost grainy, that is intentional. This shot also features in one of my calendar’s

An incoming tide at the beach at Cathedral Rock on The Great Ocean Road , site of the original Memorial Arch, just North of Lorne. Taken about twenty minutes after sunrise. A great spot for surfing, especially on a low tide with a moderate to heavy swell. Pentax istDS Camera – Three images bracketed together to create an HDR image. / /
This fractal design reminds me of a Kogelvis / Ball fish. I don’t know the proper English name and my dictionary does not tell me it either. This fish got its name because of the ball rounds shape. / I created this fractal design with Ultra fractal and I did some postwork with Photoshop. Designer: Thea Walstra / /

Watercolour and ink on Bockingford watercolour paper I painted this last week as a birthday card for my youngest daughter Lucy. Lucy is studying Japanese and Chinese language and history at University. She likes the colour and shape of Koi so I wanted to create a special greetings card for her; this was the result.
