A stormy Summer Sunset At North Mole Lighthouse, Fremantle, Western Australia. Canon EOS 40D.
This winter sunset beach scene was photographed from high on my wind swept “Ivory Tower” on Tacking Point, looking onto Lighthouse Beach in Port Macquarie , NSW, Australia. I had a Hoya Circular Polarizing Filter and a Graduated ND2 Cokin Filter hanging off the end of my lens for this one. Fuji S9600: 1/125sec @ f/4; 33mm, ISO80, Hand held. / S7RAW & Photoshop CS. Umhlanga lighthouse, Kwa-zulu Natal, RSA The B&W better suits the mood and actual conditions at the time – approaching dusk on a day with light drizzle and mist which didn’t deter the fisherman at all. B&W conversion using a technique I read about in a magazine. Instead of doing a straight desaturation, copy each channel of RGB and adjust the opacity which gives far better control of the finished result. Regards, Mike

thats the local breakwater on the River Tees here at redcar. it has deveoped over the years, and now is almost a community of fishermen. there are a large cluster of matching huts, some which appear to be cottages, a club house, the lifeboat, river pilots offices and accomodation, and a lighthouse.

Fishing boat off the Needles on a warm spring day
My father saw an exhibit with rough photomanips and really enjoyed it. He then asked me if I could make things like that. This is my first attempt and it apparently reached its goal as he enjoys it. I hope you will too. / Credits: lorivintage55stock followmyheart-stock gymnart ObsidianDawn
Prisma colored pencil. Added color on the computer to darken. A Lantern Fish keeps busy upkeeping the lighthouse
Taken during the first few months of my photography obsession. While I was fishing on Roker Pier in Sunderland. I decided that a lot of my early work needed some editing. This is the first of many. Constructive Criticism welcome
The harbour of a small fishing community on Prince Edward Island. The images ‘Garages’ and ‘Picture Window’ were also taken at this location. A closer view of the lighthouse can be seen in ‘Causeway Road’. ‘Half light’ was constructed from this image. All of the images can be viewed in my portfolio.
We’re not ready to give up on warm summer weather just yet. I captured this image of the purse seiner Legend heading out for a day of cruising on Puget Sound last weekend. /

The Fingal Head Lighthouse located at the Northern end of NSW just over the Qld border, was erected in 1872 of stone, and painted white, the tower had a fixed white light of 1,000 candelas. Even though the light tower is not high and it is built on a low headland the light is effective as it is built on one of the most easterly points of Australia with plenty of deep water offshore. The original kerosene wick burner was converted to automatic acetylene operation in 1920 with an output of 1,500 candelas and altered to group flashing. The one keeper was withdrawn at this time. There is no record of the opening of this light considered so insignificant that apparently the first keeper did not think the matter of sufficient importance to take a record of the official opening. / / / Taken October 2008 4 2pm / at Fingal Beach on the nsw Coast just South of Qld. / Camera Panasonic DMC F27 / 6mm / F/5.6 / iso 60
The St. Martins-Quaco Head lighthouse is an active aid in navigation of Atlantic Canada’s Bay of Fundy, which is home to the highest tides in the world. At a height of 38 feet, it contains an automated horn, and, of course, a light. “Quaco” in Mi’kmaq means “Haunt of the Hooded Seal.” Learn more about High Dynamic Range imaging at HDR Photo.
West Dover is a little fishing village on the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia, Canada, about 25 miles south of Halifax, on the Chebucto Peninsula. It’s on Route 333 (The Lighthouse Route) which connects to Route 3 and follows the coast all the way to the southernmost end of the Province. West Dover is a very pretty place to spend some time and indulge in wonderful seafood as well as enjoy the scenery and the quiet beauty of the village and the coastline. If you’re visiting Halifax, it’s only a short drive and you can spend the day exploring all the other little places along the way. Carry on Route 333 and make a circle back to Halifax. / To see where it is, and how to get there, here’s a link to a Google Map: / http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&source=hp&q=West+Dover+Nova+Scotia&um=1&ie=UTF-8&split=0&gl=ca&ei=AbaYSvHbH4qgswO0xq26Ag&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=title&resnum=1 Taken June 23, 2007 with a Sony DSCF828 camera.
