Stripped of her beauty, she stands alone, firm and strong. / Falling into sleep as Autumn fades. A time to restore her energy spent. / The cold and bitter winds of winter encircle her, testing her. / But she is safe, her armour protecting her, securing her delicate core from the many elements, shielding her from harm. / The rings of time hardened around her, embracing her, allowing her to sleep without worry. / As every day passes, she will take from the sun, bask in the light of the moon and quench her thirst from the soil drawing strength from her foundations, allowing her to grow. / When the time is right and the warmth of the earth awakens her spirit she will yet again show us her splendour. Give us her beauty. /

Many people have commented that they only see the ‘public’ Incognita, so here’s a glimpse of some of the private things that are important to her. Cog may not be a social butterfly, but her friends are the ceentre of her world. /

This shot was taken during the “lows” when no military aircraft were on the Navy-Dare Bombing range to complete their bombing runs. I love the way this shot turned out, especially the reflection and the lili’s shadow cast onto the lilipad just to the right. The water in these drainage culverts literally is this black, the private security firm called Blackwater, trains right near this range, hence their name I suppose.
Here is a close op of the Angel Of The Norths legs I shot earlier today.
This was the first shot from the beach other day . It was hard getting out of bed at 4:00 am, but I’m glad I did as I got some really good shots. I found a really good location just up from Triggs beach in Western Australia when I took the dog for a walk yesterday. I decided to come back and get some photos, as there was really nice rock formations around and would look good with sunrise. I tried to capture the water movment on the rock . /

Yet another trip to the Butterfly Spa with Kasey and Jonathan. Please check their galleries for more beautiful butterflies! It’s always a great time, so relaxing and a real joy to see the kids react to all the butterflies fluttering about! And he stood there for quite some time as if he new he was posing for the camera! Blake, a former student of mine, is standing under one of his favorite trees, an ancient live oak whose root system was exposed after years and years of soil erosion. Blake is six feet tall, and it’s evident in this photo that he has plenty of headroom to stand comfortably under the old oak’s roots. This old tree is telling me that life’s trials do everything to wash away our stability, but if our roots are deep and firm, we can still stand tall.
