NYE fireworks light up Sydney Harbour.
Last Anzac day we had a fireworks show down at Brighton Jetty (on south austrlia’s western coast) just after the sun went down. Here’s what i came up with. / ps. ANZAC stands for Australia / New Zealand Army Corps, and we celebrate ANZAC day to remember all the fallen heroes in our country’s history.

As we patiently awaited for the highly anticipated Australia Day 2007 fireworks, we were greeted by a rather unpleasant overcast and patchy sky, many thanks to the soaring 40C heat. Great sweat workout though. MORE WORKS FROM MY PORTFOLIO /
Here’s a macro shot of a dandelion seed with it’s reflection. I just really love dandelions and it’s shapes.
Voila!! My first “home studio” image hehehhee.

This photo was taken in Roy Utah. The fireworks are about a 1/2 mile south of my house with the lightning about 25 miles away. I captured this amazing photo with my nikon d70s right after i bought it and was actually just learning how to operate it.

here in townsend like any other place in the US of A, we celebrated the fourth of july with fireworks. / This fireworks show was actually done in a small community that is within the town, area called Big Valley. / Our town fireworks were done on friday night on the fourth, and they had their’s the next night. / I shot this using the “bulb” setting, which i have realized it’s something I need to practice on. It takes just the right timing to get all the light you can and then release the button just as the fireworks explode. there is alittle trial and error for using this method of shooting, especially when what you’re shooting is constantly changing / best if viewed larger :) Shot this in Manual Mode / using bulb setting / Focal length at 17mm / ISO of 1600 / Exposure time at 7 sec / Ev at 0 / F-stop at F11

Top Ten in Alphabet Soup group Challenge Feb 09 Nikon D60, 18-55mm. Focal length 24mm. F/11, 8secs Didn’t realize till 5 mths after this was taken that a technique I’d read about and tried on this occassion actually worked. I have just found the photo stats, which suggests to me it did work. Couldn’t find anything around that time as I’d had the computer reformatted Many thanks to Nigel Donald for sharing how to use a bit of cardboard and a long exposure Australia Day fireworks from the Northside of the River, just as it was getting underway. /

Enjoy a calendar – full… or more in the fireworks series… The start of the annual fireworks concert under the landmark ramparts of Edinburgh Castle perched on a volcanic rock above the city. Amongt the picnicers thronging the public gardens below my first attempts at fireworks meant fumbling in the dark with unfamiliar settings (like M for mad) and getting disoriented still further by an upended camera so all the buttons were in the wrong places… LOL .. then it didnt help when my remote died after 3 test clicks..teehee.. So critique hugely welcome.. and excuses above! Nikon D60 / Nikkor VR 18-200 / UV filter / Tripod / Remote (packed up after 3 clicks..grr) f/8 / 1” / ISO-100 / infinity focus / VR off Cropped only Thanks so much for looking / Cheers / :)))
