  • Dancing with Angels in the fire light, / Unveiling my soul to a merciless flame. / Swaying to the savage drums of the night, / A hungry blaze consumes my sin and shame. Whispering prayers into smoke and dust, / My body is drenched in sacred ground. / Granting enchanted spirits unyielding trust, / Barbaric drums continue to pound. Cleansing the deepest valleys in my mind, / My thoughts are filled with faith and love. / Nothing impure will be left behind, / While heavenly spirits reign from above. / Thanks!!!!

  • This an old picture of mine. Whenever it is shown it has always been a point of discussion. Most people that I have shown it to often see one of two images. Many see a question mark but more interestingly most view a boxing skull emerging from the broken light globe. Anyway I hope you enjoy it and thanks for dropping by.

  • Mixed media work. I composed the background with a fractal design and photoshop elements. Ted took the photograph of this rose and made a perfect cut out. After blending the two and playing with filters I got this endresult.

  • Something a bit different. / Snapped this at my hubby’s work – he’s a teacher.

  • The basis of this piece is some of my crystal, which I love to photograph. • This is part of my Union Creek Prescribed Burn series. It looked to me as if the forest angels were keeping an eye on these small fires to make sure that they didn’t get out of control! The rays of light appear to land just where the fires are burning. / /

  • Taken at ISO 200, / shutter speed 3.2 seconds / f/22

  • Seen a few of these in my time. Description for DAC: Composited images in photoshop: Sunset base image with trees, duplicated 4 times in Layers Palette in Photoshop. Lightning over mountain layer added and copied twice in Layers Palette and set to Screen in the blending mode drop down menu. Added the Moon last and reduced its opacity to about 75%. Flattened the image and voila..

  • I was experimenting with slow shutterspeed effects, and saw a friend do some work using fire. so it became something i wanted to try and just play around with and see what i could do with it. / so one cold night, im bored, i decided to try this time lapse stuff out / at the time i was still using my kodak easyshare 6490 camera back in feb of 2007. / so i set it up on my tripod in the darkest part of my house, the hallway / it took a few times of trial and error, to be lined just right with the framing, and to get the flames just right. i was going for a heart shape for valentines / i used two bic lighters to achieve this effect / just as i set the timer on the camera, as it was starting to release the shutter is when i started forming the heart shape with the flame / this was a very fun challenge, something great to try on those cold or rainy days and you feel like there isnt anything to do. this was shot in SS priority, SS was set at 5.6, time lapse was set at 6 sec, aperture was F 2.8, and focal length was at 6mm, and exposure comp at -2, no programed effects were done to this shot, this is as is right out of camera / unfortunately due to the 4mp of the camera all that is available is the card

  • A flight to Denver Colorado, a 5 hour drive to Togwotee Mountain Pass, USA at an altitude of 9767ft made for some spectacular scenary, but also made for the worst altitude sickness EVER. One by one our party fell ill, only I remained standing. I went out on Christmas Day, took various shots including this one from the car, I also took a video diary of the trip for everyone in bed. I should really dig it out as I remember they wern’t happy with my jolly commentary. Only after I got stuck in the snow did I begin to feel exceptionally ill. The trip was immediately cut short. I missed out on the Devils Tower Wyoming and Mount Rushmore. Dammit. Greeting Cards / Framed Print / Canon 10D, 70-200mm at 135mm, f/9.5, 1/90 sec, ISO 200. No filters used and mounted on the car door. A small amount of dust and scratches removed in photoshop. This shot is also available from a photobook collection called Rural Mementos by redtree.me © Copyright 2009 David Reid – redtree.me – All rights reserved.

  • Thankfully not,, but oh so nearly! Taken at the start of the annual fireworks concert under the familiar skyline of Edinburgh Castle marking the end of the city’s famous international arts festival.. In the gardens below thronged with picnickers my first attempts at fireworks meant fumbling in the dark with unfamiliar settings (like M for mad) and disoriented still further by an upended camera so all the buttons were in the wrong places… LOL.. ooh and it didnt help my confusion when my the display tried to pretend it was the usual way up! oops and my remote gave up on the third test click too..lol .. In the end it was pot luck to time and frame things with heaps of missed chances.. So critique hugely welcome.. and excuses above! Enjoy a calendar – full… or more in the fireworks series… Nikon D60 / Nikkor VR 18-200 / UV filter / Tripod / Remote (packed up after 3 clicks..grr) f/8 / 1” / ISO-100 / infinity focus / VR off Cropped only Thanks so much for looking / Cheers / :)))

  • My depiction of the legendary Badak Api or “Fire Rhino.” Thus sayeth Wikipedia: / “There are legends about rhinoceros stamping out fire in Malaysia, India, and Burma. The mythical rhinoceros has a special name in Malay, badak api, where badak means rhinoceros and api means fire. The animal would come when a fire is lit in the forest and stamp it out.” In this artwork I portrayed the Badak Api as a wise-looking red beast, whose horn sheds a glowing light as he patrols the forests looking for fires to stamp out. My drawing is based off of the Black Rhino, a critically endangered species of Rhino from Africa. Original artwork is 11×14 on Canson paper and is a mixed media piece featuring oil pastels, marker, and gold paint pen. View more of my artwork at www.lynnetteshelley.com
