  • Sparks of hot molten steel are ejected as Weston-super-Mare’s blacksmith Nathan Bennett re-forms a freshly heated strip of iron. Nathan was happy for me to stand at a safe distance while I worked hard to click in synchrony with his hammer strikes. In the film era this would have been a much more expensive exercise, for sure! I’ve had lots of great feedback from this photo (in other places as well as on RedBubble) and I was pleased to give Nathan a RedBubble-laminated print as a thank-you gift. / . / A HUGE Thank You to the People At Work Group for featuring this photo in Sept/Oct 2009! / . /

  • On one of our many bush-walks, I spotted this tree on an adjoining farming property, up on a hill, alone and so perfect! It just begged to be photographed! I did some simple editing in Picasa3 and this was the result! Shot with my trusty Sony a200 using the Sony 18-70mm kit lens. Love my Sony!

  • Seen a few of these in my time. Description for DAC: Composited images in photoshop: Sunset base image with trees, duplicated 4 times in Layers Palette in Photoshop. Lightning over mountain layer added and copied twice in Layers Palette and set to Screen in the blending mode drop down menu. Added the Moon last and reduced its opacity to about 75%. Flattened the image and voila..

  • On Zazzle / on DeviantART Strongly inspired by Kagerou ... all the flowy red and orange hair, and a bit of Van Gogh’s Starry Night as well, for the background. A fierce and free magechild, who commands the fire of the night and moves through their own imagination at will… / Basically, controls the realm of dreams. / (also, Kagerou is possibly maybe initially believed to be a crazy-dream-journey) ArtRage 2.5 and graphics tablet

  • Created In Ultra Fractal 5.01 This image scares me a little, I was looking at videos of volcanos erupting yesterday, then on my journey through the Fantacy Fractal Universe, found this glowing ball of fire! Watch a video here

  • Shot early am on 08/08/09 here in anderson, Ca…..private pond…..glorious view….copyright protected and registered. Wildfires once again have come to Northern Ca, (though nothing near what we had last year, thank God). Please view in large format for optimum viewing pleasure / / /

  • My depiction of the legendary Badak Api or “Fire Rhino.” Thus sayeth Wikipedia: / “There are legends about rhinoceros stamping out fire in Malaysia, India, and Burma. The mythical rhinoceros has a special name in Malay, badak api, where badak means rhinoceros and api means fire. The animal would come when a fire is lit in the forest and stamp it out.” In this artwork I portrayed the Badak Api as a wise-looking red beast, whose horn sheds a glowing light as he patrols the forests looking for fires to stamp out. My drawing is based off of the Black Rhino, a critically endangered species of Rhino from Africa. Original artwork is 11×14 on Canson paper and is a mixed media piece featuring oil pastels, marker, and gold paint pen. View more of my artwork at www.lynnetteshelley.com
