Morning fog lies rises from the valley floor covering nearly, a couple of ridges dotted by golden larch trees emerge.
I took this on the way home after a Christmas Concert by the Big Rock Singers and just had to share it right away. We have had a dump of six to eight inches of heavy wet snow lasting all day, causing me to shovel several driveways several times today. However, the absolute beauty of freshly fallen snow mixed with blue Christmas lights makes up for any of the day’s toils. Hope you like it.
Wasn’t sure about this one but it got rave reviews over at NAture Photographers forum so here ya go. IT may not be everyones cup of tea. A stand of tall fir trees in the Cascade Mountains near Snoqualmie Pass nearly veiled in white clouds and snow of a spring storm.
Strong backlight on the slopes of the Tatoosh range and rising low clouds among the fir trees give this an air of mystery.

The tallest trees of the Wenatchee NAtional Forest pierce the low clouds and mist as the sun rises on a crisp winter Day.
Dawn in the forest on a foggy October day near the PAcific Crest In Washington
Fungus and fir seem to get along pretty well together. Along the Wallace River, Cascade Mountains, Washington. Canon D60.
I love these little ones so whenever i get a chance I must photograph them ..summer is impossible
Summary In the woods stood the prettiest little fir tree. It did not think of the warm sun and the fresh air; all it thought of was that it wanted to grow up. “Enjoy your youth”, said the sunshine; but the little tree did not listen. A stork told of seeing older trees chopped down and used as masts and the little tree envied them. In the fall other trees were taken down and the sparrows told of seeing them decorated in houses. One year while still in its youth the tree was cut down for a Christmas tree. It was bought and decorated, and on Christmas Eve all the festivities surrounded it. The children asked for a story, and got that of Humpty Dumpty (rather than Henny Penny). The next day, the tree expected the festivities to go on, and to hear the story again, but servants took it down, and threw it into the lumber room. It talked with mice, and they came to hear the story, but since it was the only one it knew, they did not come again. In the spring the tree was dragged out into the yard and a boy took a golden star from it. The tree was burned and the happiest day of its life was over, the tree was over and this story with it. Over, over, as all stories will be. by Hans Christian Andersen Background dev ro-stock Dec 08
Rocky Mountains, Canada looking towards the Columbia Icefields. Taken during summer 2008 in Jasper National Park.
Early Morning light skips across the clouds hanging in the valley as a few of the tallest firs and pines poke through the clouds.
I don’t have a macro lens..wish I did, so I could really get close up on those raindrops. But I did have fun with the starburst filter on my camera after the rain!

I took this at Lake Louise Banff National Park Alberta Canada Thank you all so much for the comments on my Droop … there are so many that I cant reply to them all but I appreciate everyone one of them
We had a fantastic hike today – lower level ( 1800ft) as the trails were snow covered ice. This is Loch Ordie , with ice forming on the edges, looking South – a stunning day. We hiked in what is called rough terrain as we climbed up snow covered heather hills to the tops and down pretty steep cliffs then wound our way round to this loch.
Something different I know but I like this place and I like what the light does to the inside on a sunny day. These girls were jogging across the river, it was a beautiful day…........people running and biking all over the bike trails and at the end of one trail there is a Dairy Queen, everybody seems to head that way even if it does defeat the purpose of staying fit huh? LOL everyone needs a little Ice cream :)

2007 Mixed Media Guitar Sculpture Abstract From Alma Gitano Series 36×48”x4” stain glass effect. I built the frame of 36×48” out of douglas fir wood, then built the guitar out of pine wood, notching the inside (of guitar) to accept plexiglass cut-out, which is then inlaid into 36×48” frame after frame is skinned with thin masonite and prepared for finish paint and notched out to shape of guitar, simple. The rest is even more fun. Frame of guitar is painted black and antiqued, and varnished the plexiglass is painted with (stain glass paint) abstract design finished off with gold and silver metallic trim. Plexiglass then glued into guitar shape, guitar sculpture is then glued into guitar shape of frame. The outside of guitar shape is painted with yellow, yellow ochre, cad red, orange, purple and white mixed acrylic paints.
