i resolved to do this portrait one way or another a considerable time ago, but it has been spinnin around in my head instead of comin out to play until today as a complete surprise to me it pops up !! kinda speaks for itself where my good friend Kari is concerned , we almost have a brother sister type of relationship , except it goes a bit deeper , yknow when you just know that you have known someone in many former lives , because of all the information your brain is filling in for you in such a short space of time too many similarities too much goes unsaid, yet understood to be coincidence or merely luck, anyhow thats the short….ish version hope you like

“Smoke Sauna” was featured in the group European Everyday Life, July 2009 For the Finns the Savusauna has always been an important place for bathing and recreation. The Sauna was the place where children were born, where the sick were cured and magic performed. The Sauna spirit was respected and feared. Original old Finnish Saunas, Smoke Saunas have made a come back, but very many Saunas have chimney or they are electrically heated. They are modern constructions with running water and other comforts. It is, of course natural that the external appearance of the Sauna has changed over the years, but, however, the spiritual content and meaning will always stay the same for generations to come. / More info about Smoke Saunas The photo is taken in Lappajärvi, Finland July 2009.
