My name Aglaia originates from Greek Mythology. / Aglaia being one of The Three Graces and daughter of Zeus. / She was the Goddess of Brilliance. This self portrait was shot using a pentax K1000 and lLford black and white film and hand printed using high contrast filters.

For you Terez , my lovely daughter….she died when she was nearly 15… This is one of my new oil painting series ,90cmx90cmx3cm on canvas . Thank you my friends your comments and support mean a lot to me. I had this pain bottled up in me so so long… but I knew and hoped with time passing things will change and turn out good… I was right, things started to unfold last week and I could just see and feel it. Working with this wonderful model just inspired me and brought all those feelings up from my heart, bones and my most inner part. I loved every minutes of it and it gave me a wonderful peace of mind.

Title thanks to my husband… I was stumped and when I asked my husband for a suggestion for the title he said the daisies were natures beauty and shone amongst a gloomy winters day, which to him is the essence of winter. i’ve been photographing newborns since the beginning of february of ‘09… my partner loves to photograph babies and i’d much rather photograph dogs… i know, weird… BUT i’m glad we chose to do newborn sessions together because it’s amazing images like this and opportunities like this that just don’t come along all the time if ever… today was an amazing day… today was our first triplet newborn session… and i had these hats especially made just for these three gals… don’t they just melt your heart?! taken with sony alpha a900 50mm f/1.4

I created this cyborg bee for my Eros project I remember at the time I was listening to Tori Amos’ Beekeeper album, it’s where I got the idea to depict Eros attacked by bees in the first place. Since then, it’s one of my favorite artworks I’ve ever done. It was created entirely in Photoshop, all textures and shadows included.
