I learned today that another of my images, “Reaching”, has been selected for the exhibition by the Center for Fine Art Photography. More than 1,400 images were submitted, from which just 50 were selected for the Idea of Self Exhibition. By being selected, artists and their work will be seen by an international audience of collectors, curators, art consultants and others who appreciate the fine art of photography. All exhibitors are included in the Center’s online gallery, and will have inclusion in the Center’s 2008 Exhibition Collection CD which is distributed to selected galleries, collectors, design houses and corporations worldwide.

Well – the reason I have ‘toned down’ my participation here is because I’m concentrating on learning more about how to create ‘composite images’. As to gain a finished result good enough for RB takes a LOT longer than with a single image, of course I have much less new work of an acceptable standard ready to upload. / But today I got the best encouragement of all: My very early attempt – when I just figured out how to lay two or more images together for the first time about a week ago – ‘Flight’ – has been featured in the group ‘Fine Art Composites’!!! An amazing shock and wonderful encouragement to have my work selected in this group which consists of so many incredibly talented artists and maintains such an awesomely high standard of work! I was shocked enough when my work was accepted into the group in the first place!!! / A very big thank you to the hosts of this group – it means an awful lot to me that you have noticed what I am learning to do!!!

A death, followed by a birth and now – a wedding! Congrats to my dear friend Shell who is finally tying the knot:) Blessings to both of you for now and always:) Its been a hard road these last few months since the cyber predator turned my life inside out – I am still undergoing tests (and will be for months to come yet) as are the other women who he violated and abused in his narcissistic and carnal predations. Well, you know what they say, karma comes back on you when you least expect it, so babycakes, the rule of three does not apply to thee – its the rule of ten with me! My art has suffered somewhat as a result of the recent loss of my treasured four footed bestest friend. I’m more than a little lost without him. But time will heal all wounds they say, its a pity it has to take so bloody long! Am working on some new calendar concepts based around mandalas – so keep an eye out for those! Also will be upgrading to a digital slr soon, too:) Much excitement will ensue! And there is a surprise in the wings! Stay tuned for further details! May Samhain bring your life some peace and quiet after the turmoil of the past quarter year… Blessed Be

I have now almost completed the latest painting – Christ’s One Hand Clapping – Enlightenment. It still has to be completely varnished after sitting to allow the oils to set for a few weeks but thought I would put this small shot of it up in a journal for those interested in seeing it. Below is the original airbrush art I created to use as the template for this larger (3’ x 4’) work in oils on stretched canvas. As you can see I have made a few changes: added symbols, changed the expression on the large face – didn’t like it snarling at the world … lol and some of the clothes on the back characters. I have also now started on the next one and if you want to see the progress shots of the new one as well as the one mentioned above then you can view the shots by clicking here Am missing all my friends here on the bubble and apologize for not getting around to view your works as much as I would like lately. Have fun and take care:) Cheers / CJ /

  • Sanctum - Double Featured this Weekend
    by F.A. Moore

Sanctum, my first all black and white work, was double-featured on Sat…

Sanctum, my first all black and white work, was double-featured on Saturday, June 20, 2009 by the All Things Black and Abstract Digital Art and Writing groups on Red Bubble. The All Things Black gallery features images with a predominantly black subject. ABSTRACT DIGITAL ART AND WRITING or ADAWG, as it’s popularly called, focuses on written prose and the art that illustrates it. It’s unusual in that it combines the two mediums for a unique and fascinating gallery. Sanctum is my first feature in each of these groups. I’m grateful and deeply honored by the acknowledgement of this digital fine art piece. Sanctum employs a black and white room made up of only 2 graphic source elements: 1) a stained glass window, and 2) a checkered floor. The floor was brought into several separate layers, each of which was twisted and distorted. The end result of that was drapes, then placed, shadowed, and reflected on the floor to create a three-dimensional room. Sanctum is my challenge entry into the Everyday Women group black-and-white challenge. Most of the great entries there are photos of women in everyday circumstances; and this piece doesn’t fit so well. But without the challenge, I would not have been inspired to create it. I am so thankful, I did!! it’s one of my personal favorites todate. Once I discovered the All Things Black group, I also entered it in their Black and White challenge. The Black and White Room (scaled to 494×331 from 5000×3335): / Link to: Sanctum Portrait / If you would like me to create a special portrait of you in the Black and White room, just bubblemail me! :D

  • New American Landscape 6X Feature and Jun 28-Jul 5th in Review

The highlights of my week on Red Bubble were serveral. Number one had to be getting approval for the Southern United States Artists group. I am accepting work with an eye toward exhibition and have high aspirations for it. I am glad to have Levi Moore (no relation), a.k.a. artmonger as my co-host. Just as exciting is the start of production on Frans List: Art, featuring some fine artists of Red Bubble. More on that as I get closer to the first feature show. New American Landscape / Third on the list, but truly inspirational, was the six features awarded to New American Landscape. New American Landscape shows Gargoyles, one of which is tatooed as Mont-n-sano. The work represents Monsanto’s decimation of the farmer and agriculture as we know it. This is due, in part, to their patenting of genes found in the wild, and claiming ownership rights to everything that has “their” gene. The farmer, and his wife, in the window of the gothic house, are meant to evoke the classic “American Gothic” painting. Obviously, though, something is amiss. Many thanks to the various groups who either recognized the aesthetics and digital expertise in the work, the writing that accompanied it, and/or who recognized my attempt to bring about awareness. I am grateful for the honor and the exposure. Those groups are: Freedom in Words and ART, Digital Art Compilations, Current Issues, Politics, Race, Sexuality and Culture, Core [C.O.R.E], and Digital Artists United. Thank you all for featuring New American Landscape. / New American Landscape Rural Landscape / The first in that series was “Rurual Landscape”, which I purposely released in advance and let sit a couple of days; hoping you would admire its beauty, before I hit you with “New American Landscape”. And you fell for it! Rural Landscape was featured by ImageWriting and Freedom in Words and ART. I’m very grateful for these features. Rural Landscape was used as the basis in “New American Landscape”, where the Gargoyles and shadows visibly change the mood and the area. / Rural Landscape Immersion and Rain Catcher I was very pleased to see both Immersion and Rain Catcher featured by Abstrict Digital Art and Writing and Freedom to Shine, respectively. These works are more or less experiments with incorporating similar artworks within one, in a non-obvious way, to create compatible works. Many thanks to these wonderful group hosts. My Hero, Life-Giver, and The Choice-II Finally some old favorites got featured again; so that was a great surprise. My Hero by the in-between group; Life-Giver by Dimensions and The Choice-II by Impressionist Art. That was the 3rd feature for both My Hero and The Choice – II, and the sixth feature for Life-Giver. Abnoba, goddess of the Black Forest and Danube / Last but not least, Abnoba, goddess of the Black Forest and Danube placed in the top10 of The Divine Feminine’s Celtic Goddess Challenge. She hasn’t won any features, but I’m fond of her anyway, and her little animal friends! Below is the summary. LATEST FEATURES 2009-07-05 The Choice-II in Impressionist Art / 2009-07-04 New American Landscape in Digital Artists United / 2009-07-04 New American Landscape in Core [C.O.R.E] / 2009-07-04 New American Landscape in Politics, Race, Sexuality and Culture / 2009-07-04 New American Landscape in Current Issues / 2009-07-03 Life-Giver in Dimensions / 2009-07-03 New American Landscape in Digital Art Compilations / 2009-07-02 New American Landscape in Freedom in Words and ART / 2009-07-02 Abnoba, goddess of the Black Forest and Danube top10 in Celtic Goddess Challenge / 2009-06-30 Rural Landscape in Freedom in Words and ART / 2009-06-30 Rural Landscape in ImageWriting / 2009-06-29 Immersion in Abstrict Digital Art and Writing / 2009-06-28 Rain Catcher in Freedom to Shine / 2009-06-28 My Hero in in-between
