With the global economy caught in the gravity of the financial crisis, it’s sad that programs like the Constellation Project will have a long wait before anything truly gets off the ground. / / NASA’s Constellation Project is set up to finish the International Space Station, retire the Shuttle Fleet and build a whole new fleet of space vehicles which will take us back to the Moon, then Mars and then the places beyond. / / But with Congressional limitations and funding cutbacks due to the financial crisis, as well as being stuck with a complicated and restrictive “go as you pay” finance structure it’s unlikely we’ll be seeing any groundbreaking manned space flights in the naughties. / / This image represents a fleeting memory of a childhood dream to see man explore our planets and then the stars beyond and it’s one of the few things as a child I looked up to America for. / / The universe is a big place and we’re yet to make it out of our solar system but without programs like the Constellation Project, man may never ever get to make another giant leap. / / DETAIL / / / /

  • SHOW ME THE MONEY
    by Larry Butterworth

    US$3.99–US$91.20

The United States Government has pumped hundreds of billions of dollars into the financial system and bailed out banks whose poor decision making should have caused them to go out of business. Instead of being forced to learn their lesson, these poor-performing banks are being rewarded for their financial mismanagement, and the ultimate cost of this bailout will fall on the American taxpayers. .

  • One for my friends Jase and Beej. Enjoy! I’ve had to change this – the actual figure is 300 billion not 3 billion.

  • sub-PRIME CUT
    by Larry Butterworth

    US$3.99–US$91.20

As loans default and foreclosures increase, the lenders have to pay out more and more to hide the losses. But the lenders can only make this up by making more loans, because this is how they increase their cash flow; and now it is clear they can make nore loans, and thereby increase their cash flow only by simultaneously increasing their losses, since their “loans” are proving to be losers. So no one wants their”paper” anymore because-well-it’s the financial equivalent of toxic waste. The “subprime” stuff is just the first surge: the tidal wave is close behind. Because all of it, the subprime, the prime, the AAA and everything in between, is the product of a previously hidden, but now obvious…Ponzi scheme. A Ponzi scheme that is in the process of unraveling, as all Ponzi schemes eventually do. And what person wants to be the last idiot to buy into a Ponzi scheme? I don’t need to explain this one, do I? Twinned with:

  • Hologram Tam better known as Thomas Mc Anea was trying a little quantative easing of his own but sadly his assistance with the current financial crisis wasn’t appreciated. Tam & his associates have been sent to prison for forging UK banknotes. / Tam’s artistic talents have got him six years in prison. By the time he gets out the financial crisis should be over & he could earn a good living along with the likes Sir Fred Goodwin & many others who have guided us through & into these difficult times. / It has to be said though; at least Tam has got real talent. / I had an idea that Hologram Tam sounded a bit like Telegram Sam so re-worked my original idea to incorporate a Marc Bolan T.REX EMI style version. / More Info can be found here
