What time is it really? Which way are we going? Time looms over us all, hanging right in front of our heads…. / Was completed in watercolor and gouache media on Arches cold-press 180lb. paper, circa 2007.
This painting is I guess a technique study. / I used to write my diary entry’s onto canvas then paint over them. / I had forgotten about how nice it was because you just get lost in the words and it works like a warm up to painting. you can buy orginals from my website www.shannoncrees.com
12×18 grey matboard ( a relatively smooth surface. Matboard handles the way I use colored pencil – rather heavy-handed), original sold. As of 12-28-09, 1962 views. I just loved the way the makeup created shadows of different colors… and just had to try it.. Completed 1996

/ “Now available as a LARGE print” Sales of this Design? – 3 sales so far :) / / Girl on Red Wall is from the ‘Asia Series’ of cards by Karin Taylor Girl on Red Wall is a mixed media production on canvas textured paper utilising ink, pastel, charcoal and acrylic in the rendering. It was a fun piece that has been popular, the original has already been sold to a doctor in Queensland, and prints requested overseas. It’s funny, the paintings you don’t think will be popular, are the ones that receive the most interest sometimes. I have grown to love Girl on Red Wall very much, and would now like to share her with you

I’ve finally got around to painting in a background to this image, and digitally remastering the figure as well… / The version of Tessellation 1 that I originally posted here had a background created in Photoshop, while the painting itself was blank apart from the female figure. Not any more! / I’ve submitted this for an upcoming exhibition – details of that to follow. / This is all hand painted and features a lot of metallics golds and coppers….It is extremely detailed – right down to the tiniest patterns in the centre….It took ages….Hope you enjoy… / Compare with the original posting below /
Watercolor, ink, paper “Awake, north wind, and come, south wind! Blow on my garden, that its fragrance may spread abroad. Let my lover come into his garden and taste its choice fruits.” / (Songs 4:16) It is difficult for the Soul to lose the height of comfort reached, even though all her sacrifices are like tiny beads slipping through her fingers in comparison with the divine reward of His love. The good works the Soul does for Him are not what delights God, but her herself when she remains in Him. The Bride answers to her Beloved: “Whatever wind is blowing: dry north, burning my garden, or gentle south breeze, whatever hardships enter my life, I say – Come, my Beloved, the garden belongs to You only. I will follow You wherever You call me. Let my life be like a table generously laid for You and Your friends.”
Watercolor and pencil on board. / 11×14 / 2009 Model: Adhara Batul Life came from many seas. Seas of deep blue and secrets unknown that keep myriads of bacteria and beginnings. Seas of wombs and their sacred silence. Seas of past and forgetfulness, alive in the depths of our souls, dark and mysterious.
