‘Asia Series’ card by Karin Taylor A more serious piece this time. A painting inspired by the art form of the Geisha. Her discipline and strength I admire. I have used ink, acrylic, charcoal and pastels to create Geisha Girl. The original painting is no longer available, but so glad she can come to you in the form of a greeting card. I hope you like her :D

Pearls represent the tears of the moon and remind us that life may not be easy and we all struggle. The lotus represents strength through love. The daisies are for simplicity. The bindi is for spiritual insight. The red sky at night is a sailor’s delight…for a red sky at night indicates smooth seas on the morrow! This painting is inspired by the healing elements provided by mother nature and patterns and textures from around the world. Unfortunately much of the fine detail and penwork is lost in the photograph, the original work needs to be viewed to really appreciate the beauty and detail. (Perhaps you could take the time to view the larger version..) The painting has been painted using a variety of professional artist quality mediums including water colour, inks, acrylic paint, gold leaf and shellac. Size approx 60×40cm. It seems to make a nice card, not sure about it with a black frame, though…? / although… not too bad framed. Look forward to reading your comments, Thanks as always! X C
