I thought i would have a crack at a classic image here, rights of passage and all, or something…which is a lot harder than it first looks. The original is so strong and a symbolic image, so yeah i found it hard. I most like the title i came up with for this one. - The quote in the title, ” One mans freedom fighter is another mans terrorist ”, i once heard a friend of mine say about Che Guevara…not sure if it was his quote or not, but either way it always stuck in my head…yes, if i really wanted to know i would google it! / Anyway, i thought i would try and capture those polar opposites here by creating a Rorschach Test (Ink Blot), Grim Reaper vs Che, one looks up, the other looks down, text forward then backwards…you get the gist! - Anyway enjoy!

Some people make paper aeroplanes, and fine, maybe some of the aerodynamic touches help them move through the sky a bit better. But not you. Your paper aeroplanes fly through the air at mach five and barely have time to casually sneer at others’ efforts. You’re a pro. You don’t make paper planes. You make paper jet fighters.

The McDonnell XF-85 Goblin was a parasite fighter – it was designed to be carried in the bomb bay of a B-36. It had no undercarriage and was hung from a hook which retracted into the nose of the Goblin. The extended range of the B-36 meant that it would be flying beyong the range of fighters that could defend it, so the idea was to carry a fighter onboard. America’s own ‘foo fighter’ first flew on 22 July 1948

This design is based on the Paul Defiant fighter plane. Its a unique aircraft as it has a heavy calibre gun turret sitting in the middle. When these planes first came into service during WW2, enemy fighters would attack from the rear not realising the plane was quite capable of shooting then straight in the face. war monster; soldier, freedom fighter, terrorist one person’s terrorist is another person’s freedom fighter? / is it just to kill one…two, ten, a thousand innocent people to secure the interest of a state, a nation, the world. and when this interest is secure by killing the ememy or whatever this perception of the enemy might be. is it the end or will there be another problem. lets make peace, not war
