Billie’s Words of Rock teams an old fifties saying ‘Don’t Flip Your Wig Man!’ ,which is what to say when some one loses it and you have to be the voice of reason telling them to calm the @#!$ down, with a happening sketch of a double-bass player I affectionately call Billie…Affectionately drawn for my friend Glenn who sports mean chops! From: The Epic Collection of ‘Elle Jaye Rose’ facebook graffiti EDITION # of 20 SHIRTS note some designs may have an ever so-slight screen resolution affect (which is part of their concept)

This exquisite creature is Lola Lamour, a beautiful woman who sings wartime favorites all over the country. She also starred on the T.V programme Time Warp Housewives focusing on women and couples who live their lives completely in the past. Lola is a lady whose passion includes living, dressing and cooking anything from the fifties with a healthy sprinkling of the forties at events. This image was taken at the Ramsey 1940’s Weekend…..
A compilation of images created from a photo of candles on a 50th birthday cake. They are arranged in a spiral like DNA. Some images have been digitally manipulated and they have all been arranged in “Paint”. Is 50 truely middle aged or just the begining of the best part of life. Less responsibilities and / less worries (hopefully), / more idea of what makes you happy / and more time to spend enjoying life
Straight from Tokyo to the Queenscliff Music Festival in southern Victoria, Australia, “The Bawdies” are influenced by artists like Buddy Holly, The Beetles, Ray Charles, Otis Redding, etc. They have a huge amount of entertainment value, personality and energy on stage. Language barriers are not a problem, these guys had the crowd jumping and screaming from the moment they announced “Are you ready?!!” in their heavy accents. To hear them, check out www.myspace.com/thebawdies but to truely appreciate them I highly recommend seeing these guys live on stage!

Getting ready for the 50’s fancy dress night…...
This reflection of modern day cars on the door glass is quite a contrast to the nostalgic display depicting the fiftys found inside this quaint little cafe…Lynn
Will you loan me some? It looked to me, that’s what this Percheron was saying when I took his picture! :)
Spent a lovely day at the Fifties fair at Rose Seidler House on Sunday with Adriana. We met two other bubblers – Peter and Tatiana – and watched the sights go by. Had a bit more success with the ‘still’ subjects but learnt some more about candid photography.
Think he must have done judging by the lipstick on his cheek! Another from the Fifties Fair.
Her look was so authentic but she couldn’t leave 2009 behind completely. Where would she be without her mobile phone? Another candid shot from the Fifties Fair.
This shot was taken in response to a challenge in the That One Great Shot group. We were asked to take fifty step either from the front or the back door of our homes and see what we can shoot. As much as I love the neighborhood I live in, the road in front of our house is not the most exciting of places, so I decided to shoot in my back garden. It doesn’t sound like much, but fifty steps is quite a bit , and it ended me up at the very back of our garden. Actually there was quite a bit that i could have taken photos of. There is the Small Yew tree at the very bottom which is just starting to berry (this shot may feature here later on), and the Buddleia bush still full of colour. But I chose to photograph my lovely greenhouse that we inherited when we moved here. It is old and crammed full of bits and pieces. I have shot from the other angle in the past but never thought of shooting this was with the tree. Probably because this is the most tidy this back part has been in year. I especially like the sunflower that has grown next to the green house. We had several there, but unfortunately some didn’t survive the number of windy days we have recently had. (A moment of silence for the fallen please) Because it was getting late in the evening and the lighting wasn’t that good, I decided to shoot this as a HDR, using 4 bracketed images, and combining them using Photomatix Pro for Macs. I made only a slight adjustment in the contrast and lighting in the tone mapping tool, but only minimal adjustments. Pyracantha berries with selective focus taken with my nifty fifty lens. My own texture added with a low opacity.
Madworld complains of being fifty even though she still looks nifty / Well I say fifty never cos she obviously is clever / I mean have you seen those eyes and the pictures of her feller? / They tell a tale of passion yeah? Of a love that’s quite supreme. / Oh Tracey girl you still turn heads when you walk in a room Oh tell us more about your woes, your belly with its jelly / The cellulite on hips and bum, your tits like my Aunt Nelly’s / Oh girl you can write as much as you like but remember just one thing / They say the camera never lies especially in the light / So head up girl and you be proud for you’re a real delight! I thank you Checkout Madworld’s wonderful self portrait http://www.redbubble.com/people/madworld/art/2677278-2-let-the-light-through#comment-23314451
