Trees Photos And Art
‘Headed for the hills’ are code words left for family and friends indicating that I have grabbed my cameras to indulge my passion for landscape photography. I hope that the pictures go part-way to brightening your days in the forthcoming year. Namaste
Twelve months in my beautiful hometown. Every season is completely different – different smells, different light, different colors. It goes from being really cold with crispy clear air and soft blue colors in the winter to brightly colored, warm, sunlit sceneries in the summer and autumn. Everything in between is equally beautiful – snow slowly melting, nature awakening, flowers everywhere, mountains glowing at sunset, peace and quiet in the fall, ....and then, again, the first snow flakes, everything calming down. It was about time I made some of my “home pictures” available as a calender. Here it is, hope you like it!
There is something about mist & fog that calms the sole. Autumn, though till early spring is the best time. Getting up at before sunrise, not knowing how the morning will turn out, I find most exciting. / Mist, fog, frost and snow, colder the better. You just can’t beat it.
Just a mix of some nature shots and some historical sites.
The picturesque Muncy Valley area, in north central Pennsylvania, is home to hundreds of family owned “working” farms. Much of that precious farmland is owned and operated by hard-working people of the Amish faith. From just the right spot, high up on a hilltop, the productive fields seem to stretch all the way to the edge of the earth. One of the best vantage points of all is located outside of the small village of Clarkstown, Pennsylvania. At the junction of two old dirt roads, where Ridge Road meets Bartlow Road, there is a view that is so amazing that it draws me back again and again. The photographs displayed in the pages of this calendar were all shot from the same location, one from each month of the year. This is a photographic record of the seasonal changes at The Forgotten Farmhouse. You are looking at a very old house, situated in the middle of a very productive farmer’s field. The house is totally cut off from any access to the nearest roads. The building and its surrounding trees just stand there, like an isolated island. A person might start to envision all of the people who had known this humble farmhouse as their family’s home for all those years. This dilapidated structure has obviously stood on this very spot for more than a hundred years. I wondered why it had never been torn down to make more plowable space for growing crops. There must be a lot of very rich history behind this extremely mysterious place. This beautiful location has been a personal obsession, since October of 2007. Presented here is a collection of images that were photographed over the last fifteen months.
