  • “The Road To Home” Ya know, sometimes I just sit in amazement when I am shooting and just look, gaze, and take it all in…..if photography has honestly taught me anything, it’s to see better, noticing things you normally wouldn’t even see. Case in point, this shot here. Most people probably just drive on by this place never giving it a second glance, but to me, it was something very special…...so special that I spent about 30 minutes here shooting it. Living in Colorado really has it’s benefits this time of the year…as Autumn sets in and the sun goes south, the light becomes so utterly magical, thanks to our elevation. It becomes so warm and saturated in the morning, that everything seems so alive….so gold. Captured on a rural backroad between Boulder and Lyons, the old road leading to cattle pastures I felt made a very worthy subject, especially considering the colors involved, the light, and the overall composition with the tree. • I photographed several roadways that go through Rivington, which may give you a mental picture of how brilliant Rivington really is! Hope you like the journey? CARD /

  • We have snow this winter: it’s great! It’s not a huge amount of snow but it does the job to take great snowy pictures. It sucked that I had exams that week.

  • Full view please :) This is a very exciting collaboration with earthairfire. Tim and I are both members of A Photographer’s Craft and were paired up for the group’s current challenge Roads. We wanted to approach this collaboration from the perspective of someone who is on the road to recovery… So what do you get when you team up two passionate, slightly opinionated artists who both know what they like and dislike? You end up with Cocoon: The Butterfly / The butterfly is ever more blessed than other creatures of flight. / Though all grace the heavens in the ecstasy of flight, / the butterfly has known the drudgery of the crawl / and the lonely confinement of the cocoon. / Her new found freedom is richer, / wilder and more thrilling than life itself. / This is the beauty of recovery… / Author Unknown ..::Stock Photo Credit::.. / Road / “Model” – locating stock / Field / Butterflies

  • Lost in Utah would have been a more apt title after the GPS affectionately known as “Dorothy” lead me to a graveyard instead of a lake lol. I discovered some gorgeous countryside along route. There is nothing better than getting lost :))

  • The Big Island of Hawaii is larger than the other islands in the chain (about 4,000 square miles) with a resident population of only just over 200,000. There are vast open spaces that go on for mile after mile of magnificent landscape. From lush rainforest to desolate lava fields – from the cool mountain air of Waimea to the humid heat of the eastern “rainy side” of the island – there is always something new to discover! If you are up to it, you can even hike up to the top of Mauna Kea (dormant) volcano and join the astronomers at Keck Observatory watching the stars from an altitude of almost 14,000 ft. But, be prepared for very cold temperatures and even snow at certain times of the year! Or you can visit the Volcanoes National Park and watch the lava flow from Mauna Loa into the sea. To me this island is not only a photographer’s dream, but it is also a place where I can listen to the sounds of the earth, watch the stars, and learn about the deeply spiritual nature of it’s people. Taking a tour with a local guide through areas not open to the general public, I was humbled to listen to the depth of his knowledge of the island’s native plants and animals. We could all learn so much about respect for the natural resources of our planet from the Hawaiians.

  • My Website Bless the Broken Road I set out on a narrow way, many years ago / Hoping I would find true love along the broken road / But I got lost a time or two / Wiped my brow and kept pushing through / I couldn’t see how every sign pointed straight to you Every long lost dream led me to where you are / Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars / Pointing me on my way into your loving arms / This much I know is true That God blessed the broken road / That led me straight to you / Yes He did I think about the years I spent, just passing through / I’d like to have the time I lost, and give it back to you / But you just smile and take my hand / You’ve been there, you understand / It’s all part of a grander plan that is coming true Every long lost dream led me to where you are / Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars / Pointing me on my way into your loving arms / This much I know is true That God blessed the broken road / That led me straight to you But now I’m just rolling home into my lover’s arms / This much I know is true That God blessed the broken road / That led me straight to you That God blessed the broken road / That led me straight to you Rascall Flats

  • Featured in Best From Around the Barnyard September 12, 2009. / Featured in Image Writing (2/24) September 12, 2009. / Featured in ! #1 Artists of Redbubble! September 8, 2009. Best on Full Size A summer cornfield along Route 869 between Osterburg and Pavia, Pennsylvania. This image is actually fairly deceptive. I spent a lot of time working on a b&w sky and doing sc on the world below in order to create a somewhat threatening summer thunderstorm image. It fit as the world you see here, all sunny and golden, is actually thanks to the texture I eventually chose. In all reality, just as I took my last shot and headed back to the car big giant ploppy drops of rain began to fall … and those pretty clouds you see there Opened Up!!! LOL Image taken August 8, 2008 with the Nikon D40x and the 18-135mm Nikon lens. I was inspired by a beautiful image from Svetlana Sewel called Road To … to resurrect this one from the pile and play a bit. It was treated with HDR in Photomatix from 5 images, all from a single handheld, at evals of +/-2. The texture added is courtesy of Princess of Shadows at Deviant Art. I also cropped a bit of the sky.

  • Best on Full Size it really is When I first began taking photography seriously … and believe me, as much as I joke around, I do take it seriously … someone gave me a wonderful bit of advice: “always turn around.” And in the case of this particular image, it couldn’t have been more wise. I had been chasing the “sunlight-through-autumn leaves” look all that afternoon … and without a whole lot of success, I might add. At one point, I happened to glance back over my shoulder and snap this image … and a couple more for good measure, of course. But it wasn’t until I got home and loaded it up that I realized how much I liked it. Hope you do too. Image taken off of Church Road, Howard County, Maryland. Handheld image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens, uv filter … not sure if the cp filter was on or not. Shutter 1/250, aperture f/8.0, exp. -0.33, iso 320. Cloning of evil telephone pole and wires then off to Photomatix with three images at +/-2 evals, then back to Photoshop for a light, light Orton and a hint of texture.
