  • My work is featured in the group Painters In Modern Times / (Thanks Everyone at PIMT!) My painting is featured as the group icon for Painted Animals / (Thanks everyone!) Acrylic on Glass This is the print version of my painting This is the newest addition to my series “Journey Through Africa”, the other three included a Red Bishop bird, an African tree in a field and a giraffe in it’s habitat. This piece is of one of my favorite creatures, the blue poison dart frog. They are found in Africa and South America and were not discovered till around 1960’s. It’s stunning natural colors really attracted me to it in creating this work. This piece like the other two in the series was also painted on an antique mirror. I take something old and forgotten and create something new, yet try to keep the aged or classic feel throughout the piece. Usually just looking at a prospective mirror I see what I will paint next in it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did in creating it! / I am currently working on another new piece in this series… Here are the other works in the series and framed: / / / Some Originals AVAILABLE, if interested please inquire You can contact Carrie at: carrie@carrieglennstudios.com and please visit Carrie Glenn Studios /

  • This tulip field watercolour, along with my charcoal drawing of an eagle, won Wyndham City Council’s, Cultural Encouragment Award 2008. It’s painted on A3 watercolour paper that’s over 185gsm. We were told in my year 11 art class to have a quick experiment with a medium that we haven’t really used before, so I decided to try watercolour. I started with the tulip just to the left of the center and couldn’t really stop! I used the dry watercolours that you then wet, – of artist quality. What I really like about watercolour is the way that you can so easily create different tones in your colours just by adding more water, that and the fact that you can wet again and remove if you’re not happy with it. I actually became quite attached to the single paint brush I used for this painting, so much so that when I snapped it half way through, I got some strong tape, stuck it back together and finished the painting with the same brush!!!!

  • A tractor is a vehicle specifically designed to provide a high tractive effort at slow speeds, for the purposes of hauling a trailer or machinery used in agriculture or construction. Most commonly, the term is used to describe the distinctive farm vehicle: agricultural implements may be towed behind or mounted on the tractor, and the tractor may also provide a source of power if the implement is mechanised. Another common use of the term is for the power unit of a semi-trailer truck.

  • This antique corn planter was one of many “relics” found out in the tree grove on an old farm place we bought on auction. I don’t know how old the plow is but when we found it, there was a tree growing up through the middle of the implement. It sits in my flower garden with roses planted around it now. This is one of my favorite images and was featured on the back cover of Country Magazine in 2006 and won the Calendar Contest for our local radio station the year before that.

  • part of a ttv (through the viewfinder) series Theory: / TTV (Through The Viewfinder) photography is when you use an old medium format camera and a digital camera. / These old medium format twin reflex cameras have large viewfinders. Firstly you compose your image using the medium format camera (in my case i have used a mamiya c33) then you actually take the picture using a digital camera (here i use my pentax K10) of what is in the viewfinder of the old camera.

  • The reflections turned out really cool on this one… Gave it a tint in Photoshop also
