Inspired by the Comikaze 2008 entry by Jen Breach and myself that saw Terminate-o-bots take on a T-rex. I’d never drawn a dinosaur before so it was lots of fun!
Homage to Nika Nika, the Black Lab Mix, is one crazy pooch. She’s an escape artist. Apparently she has ran away from home, couldn’t find her way back, decided to go for the real adventure, ended up in a shelter, and was adopted by a loving family. She is faster than greased lightning on speed but she can be easily distracted mid-stride by a flower, or a bug. She’s a very handsome dog with great spirit and a loving attitude, strong, loyal and proud – a good pal who loves it to take a nap on the couch and get her belly rubbed! Laminated Print /
Max, the white miniature poodle, is absolutely gorgeous, a real cutie pie. He is not a show dog, but very well taken care of. The Poodle, though often equated to the beauty with no brains, is exceptionally smart and active. Max proves that every day. He is steady, has calm nerves, enjoys hide and seek, fetch at the beach, and fairly long walks. / Max is not just man’s friend, he is a “person” and he expects to be treated as one, a real character and for that reason a wonderful companion. / He is one of life’s great delights. Joe, an English Cocker Spaniel, has an essence of joy about him. He does everything with gusto and great enthusiasm. I have never known a creature to get so happy about a deflated ball (which he deflated himself, of course) or exited when he re-discovers old rawhide bones another dog had buried in the backyard ages ago. He is a lively, loyal, sensitive and devoted tail wagger who loves everyone. / / The Springer Spaniel enjoys what seems to be the most mundane task to humans …. going for two walks a day rain or shine …. eating the same kibbles everyday …. having a schedule of who’s coming, who’s going …. knowing when it’s walk time. He is a constant source of comfort and companionship, always ready for a day in the field and an evening by the hearth. / / A dog is more than a dog. A dog is a blessing. I know Joe certainly is. / / Framed Print /
Mason, the purebred Black Labrador, is a sleek and graceful looking dog with a cool personality. He is friendly, loving, very patient and not afraid of anything. Some people might be frightened by large, muscular, very strong black Labs like him, but spending time with these dogs will show most people that there is nothing to fear except that you might be licked with much enthusiasm. Labs are very independent, smart and considerably “food and fun” oriented which means that Mason wants to do things his own way, but he is never aggressive or mean. He’s a friendly receptionist by day, and a faithful guardian at night. He is happy to hang out with his people, especially children, and do whatever they are doing. There are no bad days with this dog. Everyday is a good day to play, to walk or to swim. With his enthusiasm for life, awesome friendship and unsurpassed loyalty he is the friend of a lifetime.
The popularity of the small lovable Pomeranians (or Poms) is at an all-time high. It took more than twenty years for a toy breed to brake into the top ten list for registered dogs, and it was the Pom who has achieved that status. With a weight of 3 to 7 pounds the adult toy Pomeranian of today is a far cry from its much larger European ancestors. Back in the Renaissance era Poms weighed a hefty 35 pounds and were used for herding and for pulling sleds. / / Many famous Europeans owned Poms. The church leader Martin Luther had one as well as Michelangelo and Charles Darwin. Sir Isaac Newton’s Pom named Diamond once upset a candle on his master’s important papers, which contained more than 20 years of research. Mozart had a female Pom named Pimperl to whom he dedicated an aria, and Chopin composed the “Valse des Petits Chiens” for his girlfriend’s Pom pet. Charlotte of Pomerania – once Poland, today Germany – brought the first Poms to England, and Queen Victoria, a devoted dog fancier, particularly focused on the Pomeranian breed. Full-blooded toy Pomeranian pups are fairly expensive, but these spirited, loving and loyal dogs which excel in the show ring, at companion events and as therapy dogs in nursing homes and hospitals are well worth the price. Cane Corso (CC) :: Where Size, Power, Balance and Movement merge into the Ideal! / These dogs are classic Mastiffs without the loose skin of other related Mastiff breeds and were once used as cattle drivers. The Corso is a working breed and due to its history of boar hunting, guardian of people and farms, and butcher’s dog, they are required to function under high levels of stress. They are bred for strength, agility, temperament, endurance and, above all, companionship. Cane Corsos originating from the country of origin (Italy) tend to possess a more outgoing, stable temperament than their American counterpart. Cane Corsos are extremely loyal to their family and very aloof with strangers. They are a large breed of dog and take up lots of space on the couch, in the house and in the car. They drool and prefer to wipe their faces on their owners pants. Corsos like to sit close to their family and will sit on your feet, lean against you, often lay their heavy head in your lap. They like to follow you where ever you go and be a part of whatever you do. A cute, eight-week-old Corso puppy will soon turn into a large, dominant dog. That’s why it is very important that Corso get an early basic obedience education and live in a household that uses positive reinforcement and reward based training. Allow it to play, but never to jump! Trust me, you don’t want a 100++ pound mass of muscles jumping on you! Time, Commitment and Patience have their Rewards! Corsos long to be with people and require a couple hours a day of attention and exercise. Such noble dogs deserve nothing less! Puppy Time Sets of Two / / /

Boxers are handsome dogs with a lovely personality and a good sense of humor. They are all that is good in a dog: good-natured, playful, loyal, confident – and a shoulder to cry on. They are quite goofy, the clown among dogs, always active, love kids, cats, and other dogs, and their facial expressions are priceless. They are great guard dogs and will step up against anyone who intends to do harm to their family or property and subdue the individual without going overboard. A Boxer requires lots of exercise and attention and will definitely keep you on your toes. If a Boxer’s owner does not have the time or energy to tire the dog out every day, this ‘70 lb toddler’ will find something to do on it’s own that you probably really won’t like! / But as roudy as a Boxer can be sometimes, they are very sensitive with kids. You better don’t discipline your children in front of your Boxer; the dog will take the child’s side over the adults’s every time! Boxers drool and snore, and I have to admit the drooling part of it can be pretty bad. And Boxers have the worst gas I’ve ever smelled! They can really stink you out when laying next to you. / But trust me a Boxer will make you forget the cons easily! The Boxer is a caring and loving dog. If you love Boxers they love you back unconditionally. / / Set of Two / / Gimme a break … / / / The Boxer – A Gentleman Amongst Dogs /
Boxers are an incredibly graceful and very independent breed, very willing to work, but unwilling to be ordered around. Friedrun Stockmann, a German breeder whose work with boxers helped to make the breed what it is today, described the Boxer as “a gentleman amongst dogs with short coats. He not only wants the best food, he wants to be handled in a civilized manner, too.” The Boxer is not, and was never meant to be, an “attack dog”. However, lack of aggression does not equal lack of protection. Boxers are natural guard dogs, and the first breed ever to be used as Service Dogs in the US. They partner people who are blind, deaf, lame, in wheelchairs, etc. Not one of them has ever been successfully mugged. Not one of them has had their home successfully broken into when their Boxer Service Dog has been present. These dogs know when things aren’t right and they will act accordingly. A typical Boxer is a gentle creature without aggressive tendencies and a one-dog home-entertainment center. He is a quick learner, though he is just as quick to unlearn any task for which he does not see a reason. He is easy-care, intelligent, athletic, and faithful; a trustworthy pet for an active family … As Matthew Cowley said in his article ‘Canine Clowns’: A boxer is “a laugh a minute, lives life to the fullest, a maximum velocity version of canine slapstick.” What more could an dog lover ask for? A Doxie and a Golden – Two of a kind! Golden Retrievers are without any doubt smart and loyal dogs. But the Dachshund is a good dog too, smart and fast, and a comedy show on its own. The ‘Wiener’ is an early warning system. The Golden only barks when necessary and is good for ‘effect’ when you consider intruders…big bark and big presence. It takes a special person to own a doxie. This Barking Sausage is very stubborn and an independent thinker, and a little difficult to housebreak. Goldens are good at paying attention and learn quickly. ‘Hot dogs’ do not care that they are small. Waldi (that’s the German nickname for dachshund) acts like a big dog in a small body, keeps up with the big dogs and will usually be the “boss”. Golden Retrievers want nothing more than our love. They are all about pleasing their family and know our every mood. Dackel, (that’s how the Dachshund is usually called in Germany) are playful, curious, and bold, but they prefer older, considerate children who respect their dog’s space and privacy. Golden’s are the best dog for kids of all ages. gentle, reliable and trustworthy, yet protective. Doxies ‘think’ that they can rule the world and have a great heart. Golden’s have a great heart and ‘know’ that they can rule the world. The Dachshund and the Golden Retriever are both very good dogs, and to own both of them is a lot of fun. Boxers are a distinguishable, medium-built and strong breed of dogs, that got its name from its habit of standing on the hind legs to begin a fight and boxing with the front paws. The Boxer is a working dog. They’ve been trained to be Hunting dogs, Police dogs, Seeing-eye dogs for the blind, Guard dogs, Circus dogs, Courier dogs on the battlefields during World War I and World War II, and Fighting dogs in the once popular sport of dog fighting. Even the American Kennel Club (AKC) categorizes Boxer Dogs as the largest breed registered in the “working dog” category. Other than this heavy-duty capabilities, the Boxer dog is a loving companion and a good friend with a great personality, Boxers are very handsome dogs. Their expressive faces – the wrinkled forehead and dark, touching eyes – are a charming quality that sets the Boxer dogs apart from other breeds. If you ask a boxer dog owner about the resemblance of his dog to himself, he’d probably tell you that his dog can almost mirror his mood! You can never get enough of Boxer dogs’ good traits! A Jack Russel is a happy, bold, energetic, extremely loyal, intelligent and assertive dog. / He can be equally contented bolting a fox or chasing a toy in your living room, or equally adept at killing a sock in the living room or a rat in your barn. The Jack Russel’s funny antics will continually amuse you, their intelligence seems to know no bounds and their assertive nature and boundless energy can at times be overwhelming. The unique personality of this feisty little terrier dogs is capturing the hearts of many, but they are not a dog for everyone. E.g. in most cases Jack Russels will not put up with even unintended abusive nature from a child. The Jack Russell does require special handling, and there is a lot of special information available about this dogs to determine if the Jack Russell Terrier is the right dog for you. Mounted Print /
Pork Chop, the English Bulldog puppy (50 pounds and still growing!!!) A Bulldog, also known as British Bulldog or English Bulldog, is a breed of dog which traces its ancestry to England. It should not be confused with other varieties such as the American Bulldog or the French Bulldog, which have a similar appearance. Despite the Bulldogs’ usual “grumpy” facial expression, they are one of the kindest and gentlest of all dog breeds. English bulldog pups are great dogs that are very special from the outside AND from the inside. Having this dog around means a lot of joy and fun. However, if you like to go for long walks, jogging or cycling with your dog, a bulldog is probably not the right breed for you. And if you want an obedient dog who will jump at your every command, don’t get a bulldog ! Poster /

Minnie – the Australian Mini Foxie / She’s a princess and she steals hearts all the time. Mini Foxies, as they are often known, have been bred in Australia (under several different names) since the 1800’s. These tenacious little terriers are the descendants of fox terrier types bred in England and brought to Australia by early settlers. / Breeders were seeking a light, fast dog that would retain the characteristics of the Fox Terrier, while hunting smaller pests such as rabbits and rodents. The Miniature Foxie has ‘bred true’ for generations. Their look is unique and its noble head is distinctive. Laminated Print /
