  • Here is a partial map of the known Cosmos. In the center of this map is our universe and if you look toward the bottom left of the map you will find at the edge of the know Cosmos the newely formed universe system of the Living Planet it is the one to the left of the purple system and is rather a large system since that part of the Cosmos was a void and the newly expanding system filled in most of that void. stay tuned for more / same bat channel same bat time

  • This reference is obscure, though the goggles were memorable. You’d have to search land scapes near and far …farscapes you might say… to understand this one. Artwork is intentionally rough; click for larger view. Do not expect photorealistic images; these are more like comic books.

  • 2008-2009 Feb – Digital Painting An image which started in 2008 as a complicated exercise on my Cintiq. It remained unused and an unfinished project until recently for a SIGGRAPH.ca banner. • a painting of mirra from morgans book the alkara keepers / watercolor on fabriano / In a galaxy dominated by the Triaxan Empire, the last remnants of the Helassian Federation are the only resistance to a dark future ruled by Emperor Draegus. Striving for ultimate power, Draegus will stop at nothing to become the Apex, the pinnacle of all life. With the promise of peace he attended the Unus festival, where all Alkarans gathered as one. With the Alkara Keepers at their most vulnerable, Draegus massacred the only obstacle that might stand in his way. Orion, High Lord of the Helassian Federation and the last of the Alkara Keepers leads in exile. Forced to take his father’s place, he fights against the dictator that destroyed everything he knew. Sillel, the daughter of Emperor Dragus, awakens from her father’s prison and Orion discovers that he is no longer alone. The Alkara Keepers follows Sillel’s awakening to life and love as Orion struggles to find his destiny and rebuild what Draegus ripped apart. / http://www.alkarakeepers.com/

  • This was our away-team’s first look at the chosen exploration site, a beautiful chain of small islands in the southern hemisphere of this peaceful water world. / From orbit we had already learned quite a bit about the amazing life forms inhabiting the islands of Gloss, the first amazing fact is that there is no “food chain”, these silicon-based critters absorbed their nutrition from the sun, air, soil, and water, and therefore live in harmony without domination or competition. / The second amazing fact is their symbiotic relationship with each other and their environment; many of the smaller creatures literally join themselves together and with other forms to become like another creature, perform tasks as a team, then disassemble and move on to other work. There is a level of communication among all these life forms that’s often audible as musical twitters and electronic squeaks, bass notes, burbles and just about every other sound effect you can imagine, the overall effect is quite humorous, especially observing the ant-like industry with which all these creatures perform their chores. / Please follow along as I document the highlights of this memorable exploration. • The 4th piece of my Flyland Series. / This song inspired me After the explosion of the planet which created the soaring islands, this bride was separated from the one she wanted to marry. Her knight soared away on another Flyland…....and she stayed alone with his horse and thanks God – this old hut which gives her shelter. She is so thankful for the grass growing on this little Flyland, and the straw in the hut….it keeps her warm at night and helps to feed the horse. / She wonders if she will meet her knight again, she doesn’t even know whether he survived…...... / _____ Thanks a bunch to Joseph Auquier for the stockfoto of the lady on the horse. / _____ / Digital Painting done in painter, based on a 3D Vue Rendering and some postwork. • 30cm x 30cm acrylic painting completed 13 November 2009. / Painted on 300gsm acrylic paper Courtesy Wikipedia Earle K. Bergey (August 26, 1901 – 1952) was an American illustrator who painted cover art for a wide diversity of magazines and paperback books. Today Bergey is best recognized for creating the iconic cover of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes for Popular Library at the height of his career in 1948. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bergey attended Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts from 1921 to 1926. He initially went to work in the art department of the Philadelphia’s Public Ledger, and he drew the comic strip Deb Days in 1927. Early in his career, Bergey contributed many covers to the pulp magazines of publisher Fiction House. By the mid 1930s, Bergey made a home and studio in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and he married in 1935. Many of his paperbacks are now cult classics, some featuring hidden self-portraits. Bergey died suddenly in 1952 in a doctor’s office with family at his side. The cover of La Paree Stories (1935) (adapted from the original ‘Pretty as A Peacock) is in the Public Domain due to failure to comply with required formalities (ie. 1923 through 1977 published without a copyright notice). / Original Image can be seen here and here / / / ! / My zazzle gallery has a premium range of gifts that are suitable for people of all ages and tastes: an eclectic collection of unusually imaginative, hip and sometimes beautiful designs. • “The Bothy” continues the story of four friends who set out for a Christmas weekend in the country..the first three chapters can be read by clicking on the links on the images seen below We were shattered….ahead nothing but impregnable darkness..behind us just a faint glimmer from the snow that covered the fields and hills that surrounded us on all sides…with Dahlia getting more burdensome by the minute, we decided to press on in the direction where I thought I saw the light…the snow fell harder…the sled that we loaded with our things dragged heavily behind me..my suggestion that we should leave it behind was quickly vetoed and in light of what happened later, I was glad we brought it along…the wind was relentless…biting, stinging wet particles of rain mixed with snow assaulted us from all sides, as we continued our slow march to ….where?...where we going?...we had no idea but felt an imperative need to keep moving…by this time Dahlia had fallen asleep…a great improvement, as she was now silent, but though she was a slight creature, Mark and Tom were becoming increasingly weary with the weight of her… / Then I saw it again…”There”…I cried, pointing to the sky, and this time the others saw it too…a faint light in the distance, hovering just ahead of us…this encouraging sight spurred us on, and turning the torch on and off in an effort to avoid Dahlia’s fate, we moved through the deepening twilight…one more corner and we saw it…a bothy…partially buried in snow, at the end of lane, and up an incline…The Ritz hotel would not have been more welcome than this little hut, left on purpose it seemed for stranded travellers like us…the door unlocked, we went in, placed Dahlia on some straw in a corner and looked about us for any amenities the bothy might provide…what luck!! there were two candles on a ledge and a few tins of food…we made ourselves as comfortable as possible to wait out the night, shutting the door tightly against the increasing wind which buffeted the building…we fell asleep instantly….much later, the wind seemed to die down… awakened by a slight sound I rose up and in the gloomy murkiness of the room I saw a shadow standing in the open door... For those unacquainted with the term, a bothy is a basic shelter, usually left unlocked and available for anyone to use free of charge. It was also a term for basic accommodation, usually for gardeners or other workers on an estate. Bothies are to be found in remote, mountainous areas of Scotland, northern England and Wales. They are particularly common in the Scottish Highlands.wiki. Watercolour on Saunders Not Paper / The Grove / Lost / A Weekend in the Country

  • It’s taken me a while but here is another completed version of late night digital work, completed over the course of would you believe almost 1 whole day, my little one, seen here is very demanding and having had so many computer virus’s lately crashing my system I’ve had to format and reinstall from scratch many programs etc.. I started this at 3am saved it in bits and pieces and resumed around 12pm.. I’m totally exhausted. / I used several layers a total of 20. Wings created using brushes I created from a birds wing. / Light rays created totally in CS3 from a curtain whereby I took the main focus of the shimmer and turned it into a brush effect, reduced the opacity and worked in another few layers, added the warped vignette, my sig also on reduced opacity & to finish it off played with the contrast & colors until I was satisfied with the result.
