3d rendered image resembling a seascape with a red moon rising
This started off life as an Acrylic painting which I photographed & played around with. As I painted the original I think I’m allowed to do that. Its meant to represent life at the stage where the earth is still a molten mass of well cosmic dust. Its also how I feel about the internal struggle in my head. /

Just finished coloring my latest piece (although I actually sketched this about 5 years ago on a city bus on the way home from art school), and it’s looking pretty good. My original thought on this as I drew it was that this guy needed a big frickin’ gun. No, wait.. a HUGE frickin’ gun! The kind that would, in no way, be able to be supported by his weight alone. In fact, the gun-to-guy weight ratio balance would be off so badly that he would be lying on his back in about a second. But, this isn’t real life, and nothing even says this is an illustration of anything from our universe so maybe he’s on another planet or something. Yeah, that’s it.. Overall, I’m happy with the way this turned out. I originally didn’t plan on adding in the smoke or spark effects, but I thought it needed something more so I started playing around with smoke and that eventually led to a much larger idea: the character seems to be literally ripping apart or on the verge of exploding. Very cool. I’m working on improving my coloring speed and overall composition, so hopefully you’ll enjoy this latest addition to my illustration/print portfolio.

The original Rocket Adventure image created for the Rocket themed, Space 2008 and Beyond challenge. The resources for it were used to produce this image. Good luck to the men, women and children on their way to some distant place of wonder and adventure. I just hope it works out for them! Might be a place with giant green trees and purple fog and lots of yummy fungus to live on. With little chirpy things that shut up at night. Oh yea and look cute and taste great roasted on a spit. Hmm they might have taken some chickens with them; who knows. Note for the Vector Goodness Lounge Rules. No rastorize effects used in this work. All vector line work and vector effects (styles).

30cm x 30cm acrylic painting completed 13 November 2009. / Painted on 300gsm acrylic paper Courtesy Wikipedia Earle K. Bergey (August 26, 1901 – 1952) was an American illustrator who painted cover art for a wide diversity of magazines and paperback books. Today Bergey is best recognized for creating the iconic cover of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes for Popular Library at the height of his career in 1948. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bergey attended Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts from 1921 to 1926. He initially went to work in the art department of the Philadelphia’s Public Ledger, and he drew the comic strip Deb Days in 1927. Early in his career, Bergey contributed many covers to the pulp magazines of publisher Fiction House. By the mid 1930s, Bergey made a home and studio in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and he married in 1935. Many of his paperbacks are now cult classics, some featuring hidden self-portraits. Bergey died suddenly in 1952 in a doctor’s office with family at his side. The cover of La Paree Stories (1935) (adapted from the original ‘Pretty as A Peacock) is in the Public Domain due to failure to comply with required formalities (ie. 1923 through 1977 published without a copyright notice). / Original Image can be seen here and here / / / ! / My zazzle gallery has a premium range of gifts that are suitable for people of all ages and tastes: an eclectic collection of unusually imaginative, hip and sometimes beautiful designs.
