Thai silks, beads, tulle, cotton, thread mats, ribbons The phenomenal woman dances away from her everyday chores with joy and abandonment.
Inspired by the wild and crazy zinnias that grew in my garden one summer. 100% cotton, machine pieced, machine embroidered, quilted.
Wild and crazy zinnias from my garden /
Memories of my garden in fall, three dimensional parts, hidden words and images, machine and hand appliques, machine quilted. This is actually a story about my hubby in his garden, battling the gremlins each season. The sunflowers are three dimensional as are the eyes of the raccoon, hubby’s socks and his hair.
Raccoon stealing pumpkins in the fall garden.
Looking to the future, reflecting on the past. Words embroidered on the squares are my “foundations”, words embroidered on the shibori are my future desires, The use of shisha mirrors and holes in this word represent things that I don’t know that I know or don’t know. Silk shirt pieces from my past and thread mats are my hair.
Three different panels of the same view of the garden…three views of the garden…three techniques. /

As I finished rinsing everything down I spotted a tiny water drop suspended from the end of the faucet…dripping off of a few strands of fiber that had caught when I wiped it down…this is the shot that I captured after I made a dash for my camera before that drop dropped:) / Canon 500D Sigma EX DG 70mm Macro and extension tubes..manual focus…natural light from the kitchen window above the sink:)

Boat Hull Series. A macro of a painted fibre glass boat hull on the Beach. As is other than a slight constrast in post editing. It reminded me of autumn maple leaves. The lighting was purely bright glorious sunshine, which reflected off the fibre-glass, exposed by the peeling paint. Featured Oct 09 The Fine Art of Peeling Paint ~ Thank you to the group & hosts.
