  • Starry Night over the Rhone (September 1888) is one of Vincent van Gogh’s paintings of Arles at night; I Did my homage / version 24 by 36 inches on stretched canvas in Acrylic ..done with my own sensibilities while keeping the original painting very much in my thoughts..I Hold Vincent in the highest esteem , go to you tube and listen to ” Starry Starry night ” sometime.. What a moving song an lyrics. *my original painting is for sale too just inquire , .this work was featured in ImageWriting (2/24) and also in the Feature fraternity / Your comments highly valued and respected . Here’s the wonderful moving Lyrics to Don Mcleans song ..... / Starry, starry night. / Paint your palette blue and grey, / Look out on a summer’s day, / With eyes that know the darkness in my soul. / Shadows on the hills, / Sketch the trees and the daffodils, / Catch the breeze and the winter chills, / In colors on the snowy linen land. Now I understand what you tried to say to me, / How you suffered for your sanity, / How you tried to set them free. / They would not listen, they did not know how. / Perhaps they’ll listen now. Starry, starry night. / Flaming flowers that brightly blaze, / Swirling clouds in violet haze, / Reflect in Vincent’s eyes of china blue. / Colors changing hue, morning field of amber grain, / Weathered faces lined in pain, / Are soothed beneath the artist’s loving hand. Now I understand what you tried to say to me, / How you suffered for your sanity, / How you tried to set them free. / They would not listen, they did not know how. / Perhaps they’ll listen now. For they could not love you, / But still your love was true. / And when no hope was left in sight / On that starry, starry night, / You took your life, as lovers often do. / But I could have told you, Vincent, / This world was never meant for one / As beautiful as you. Starry, starry night. / Portraits hung in empty halls, / Frameless head on nameless walls, / With eyes that watch the world and can’t forget. / Like the strangers that you’ve met, / The ragged men in the ragged clothes, / The silver thorn of bloody rose, / Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow. Now I think I know what you tried to say to me, / How you suffered for your sanity, / How you tried to set them free. / They would not listen, they’re not listening still. / Perhaps they never will...

  • Recently Taken ( please view larger ), In the top of New Jersey is this huge 16,679-acre beautiful park called Waywayanda , It has Lakes streams & known for its caves too , it also has a very large , very active black bear population… and many trails and flora and fauna , I think these Dandelions & dramatic sky show some of the scale and beauty of this place… your voice /thoughtful comments are always highly respected… this work was featured in New Jersey Scenery… Rick ( using my 1285 Kodak compact camera* ) .......................................................................................................... Wawayanda State Park by Mary Jasch The Jersey Jungle waits at Wawayanda State Park in Sussex County. As wild as its name, the land of “winding, winding water” is home to Indian shelters and some of the best bear dens in NJ, a lake to swim and boat on, great gobs of pudding stone to climb, rock to scramble, ledges for leaping, primeval forest, 20 miles of Appalachian Trail and so much more. It’s a 16,679-acre garden-like jungle gym, a land of natural marvels and a dynamic showcase of human history. Its wildness survives us. Wawayanda’s beauty lies in its rough and rugged terrain, decorated with wild versions of garden flowers on top of bedrock that is 1,150 million years old. It’s the oldest geography around, part of the Reading Prong that starts in Pennsylvania, becomes the New Jersey Highlands, and ends in Vermont’s Green Mountains. The hills in Wawayanda were over 28,000 feet tall until their tops eroded and washed away to the valley before the Kittatinny Ridge, and into PA and New York. All that’s left are their trunks.

This Work was featured in the Inspired Art Group & This was also featured in New Jersey Scenery too ! to quote Van Morrison ; We were born before the wind / Also younger than the sun / Ere the bonnie boat was won as we sailed into the mystic … Hark, now hear the sailors cry / Smell the sea and feel the sky / Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic / And when that fog horn blows I will be coming home / And when that fog horn blows I want to hear it / I don’t have to fear it… Copy / paste below to hear Vans wonderful song..
