Whirling rides at the Florida State Fair. 10 second exposure at F 22. Tripod and patience to capture ride at the top of its spin cycle, and to have the Ferris Wheel in the background stable.
Took this one last Saturday night after doing a percussion session down in Geelong for the new Sons of Korah album. Usually I stick to the natural landscape but this is purty nice all the same. For other shots in this genre check out my Urban Landscapes gallery.

Taken in marvelous Melbourne. This shot was thirty seconds long and the sculpture in the foreground (Angel by Deborah Halpern) was in deep shadow, after I tripped the shutter I suddenly remembered that I had a torch in my bag so I quickely grabbed it and painted the sculptures legs with my torch beam to help balance the exposure. For other shots in this genre check out my Urban Landscapes gallery.
this was a shot where i was trying to get the impact of the clouds from behind the ferris wheel that it would make the impact of the ferris wheel better with the strong contrast of the picture, enjoy
I took this shot at the very over priced melbourne show, i believe this to be a very classic shot and probaly looks like it has been repeated many times by many different people, this is part of a series of melbourne show. hope you enjoy…. Ferris wheel at local state fair.
Fun at the carnival
The Adelaide Eye, as we called it.. a not so giant ferris wheel, located across the road from our apartment in Glenelg, where we stayed over the weekend. I’ve always wanted to capture a ferris wheel, never had the chance to do it until this moment. Desaturated this one and added a texture from www.deviantart.com to achieve a more vintage look. Reminds me of summers gone past from my childhood. All The Fun Of The Fair A composite of 3 images - / 1. A night photo of Luna Park taken from a boat whilst coming under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. (Image contains Luna Park, the Ferris Wheel and Waterfront). / 2. A photo of a page from a vintage 1940’s childrens book belonging to my mum. / 3. The back of an old hardboard photo. Loved the way the old and new melded together to end up looking like an old vintage poster or image.
