  • Haunt of the Fringe Dwellers © / Vicki Ferrari Photography This was taken on the Gold Coast in QLD, Australia at the Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area, between the board walk (the lake) and the walking path. / I was pretty “chuffed” because I received the highly commended award in the Native Plants Category, in October 2008, in the / Gold Coast City Council Natural Environment Photography Competition, . / The tree itself is a SHEOAK and it is called a fringe dweller because it grows in between the wet and the dry! This area has a sort of ‘magical’ feel, for want of a better description! / I love the Australian Bush! / I am a proud Aussie! AS IS bar minor editing. by Vicki Ferrari

    US$5.65–US$129.20

Chuckles © Vicki Ferrari This is Sully, looks like he is cracking up laughing but he was actually just on the end of a yawn! I like the way his paw his lifted up, almost as if part of the laughing. This was taken in July 2007, using Nikon D70. This is not photoshop’d, apart from the logo being inserted. Basically is as it is!! As Sully is!! • Byron Bay Midnight Ocean Rocks © / Vicki Ferrari The most easterly point in Australia! Byron Bay Moonlight Series / Byron Bay Moon © AS IS / Byron Bay Moon ©— This shot is AS IS (bar the signature) and was taken looking down from the lighthouse (tourist area), into the ocean – quite an angle to the tripod! This was as wide as I could get it, considering the angle! See below for more information. Please excuse me for being lazy by writing all of this in one description. It will fit with all the photographs in this series. These images were taken at Byron Bay Lighthouse, New South Wales, Australia back in 2004. The photographs were shot at night, on a full moon, close to midnight, which is why you can see stars in the sky, a passing ship has its light on, and it also explains the lack of bright reflection on the surface of the ocean. The experimental portraits were taken firing my Sunpak 4500DX flash (handheld), often over and over. Where there are two people (I have deliberately blurred the other person’s face, as a courtesy!) in the image, one of them being me, we had to sit very, very still (difficult for me to do!!) – not smiling (or talking, again hard to do!) as to hold the same smile for an extended period of time can be difficult and if you move your mouth, you get blur. Of course, this explains why those old nostalgic portraits from yesteryear tend to make you think the subjects weren’t that happy! I will also be doing some creative adjustments using Photoshop but will be including that information in the Technical Data. Hope you like this series! Mounted Print – Byron Bay Moon © / Technical Data / Nikon D70 / July 2004 / Close to Midnight / Tripod / Focal 92mm / F4.5 / 30second exposure / Original JPEG

  • Heart Reef ©
    by Vicki Ferrari

    US$5.65–US$129.20

Heart Reef © Vicki Ferrari A scan of an original print, taken using a Minolta SLR, back in the early 1990’s. / Heart Reef is located north of Hamilton Island, on the Great Barrier Reef, in North Queensland, Australia. It was named Heart Reef because, and obviously, it looks like a heart! / This photograph was taken from one of my regular chopper rides up on the island. I never got sick of flying in choppers, or seeing the amazing reef from the air! When you are at the Whitsundays, well worth visiting the Reef by helicopter! The view is amazing! • Yiddie Kitty ©
    by Vicki Ferrari

    US$5.65–US$129.20

Yiddie Kitty © Vicki Ferrari / This is Yiddie when he was a little baby, back in 1991. His ears were huge but he grew into them, and his nose grew broader as well! He was rescued by a friend from a coal mine at Collinsville, North Queensland and he was with me until 1999 when he had to be put down because of kidney disease. That was a very sad time but the joys that I experienced from him being in my life outweighed the grief of his leaving – and he is still in my heart and always will be, and I still miss him! My gorgeous monster! This is a scan from the 8X12 print in one of my early portfolios. Only basic editing done – it is as it is. Thanks for sharing Yiddie with me! Framed Print /

  • Yiddie Remembered ©
    by Vicki Ferrari

    US$5.65–US$129.20

Yiddie Remembered © Vicki Ferrari This is in memory of my gorgeous Yiddie (1991-1999). He was like my baby! I have so many photos and images of him but this was one of my favourites, taken on an old pentax with 50mm lens and a really low aperture. I still miss him, 10 years later! But he has a home in a corner of my heart that is never empty of him! He was a nine kilo monster and such a gentle lad – he was part feral and a friend rescued him from a coal mine in Collinsville – and I am so thankful that he was and that he was part of my life. • . i m a g i n a t i o n . . .© Vicki Ferrari YOUR TIME MAY BE LIMITED BUT YOUR IMAGINATION IS NOT / Anonymous QUILPIE TRAX— This series was created when I was having a difficult time and found that all my reserves seemed to point me in a creative direction, and didn’t I have fun with it! If you are ever not coping with life, be creative! It brings you out of the doldrums in a big way! The satisfaction of seeing something that you created is a wonderful feeling. I hope that this feeling comes across in these series, created in December 2008. Has anyone else noticed how much this person Anonymous wrote & no-one seems to know where he lived, what he looked like?! He was so talented, wasn’t he?! This photograph of Queensland Railway Tracks was taken in February 2005. It is taken in the morning between Quilpie and Charleville, looking west. There is more to come in this series, still being created! This card (graphics) were designed in December 2008, using Photoshop. If purchasing as a motivational, inspirational or greeting card, the BLACK background blends is well with the black border. It is available up to POSTER size, if that is your desire! I only hope that you find this as inspiring as I found it when creating it! Tech Data / Nikon D70s

Quilpie Trax © Vicki Ferrari IMAGINATION In Queensland, Australia, an early morning in February 2005, this image is looking west towards Quilpie, about half way to Charleville. I love the colours of the Australian bush. I find that the sight, sound, smell and feel of this beautiful and rugged harshness allows me to go to a place inside myself, where I then start to live in the now, the present – and any problems that I perceive that exist, vanish from my mind…..
