  • At the end of a rugged 11 mile hike across hard, dry, black lava, I finally reached my goal—a tiny campsite nestled against a cloud-shrouded cliff. / I set up my tent and just wanted to plop down and take my boots off. But I had seen a tiny foot trail on a map, which led up the cliffs from this campsite. I grabbed my camera and headed into the mist. There, just a 10 minute hike up a muddy trail, I became surrounded by birds, moisture, ferns, and colors. It was an awesome spot, and thankfully hard enough to reach that very few people will ever find it. Selfish of me? Perhaps.

  • Back watching the ladybirds from Mt Burr again today. As the sun finally came out after days of crisp cold and rain they began to move about, climb and eventually take off for places unknown. Watching them today I couldn’t help but think of how many lessons they could teach. This one showed me that when you get to the edge – sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith and fly away to unknown adventures…..... What amazing creatures they are! Canon 400D 18-55 with two stage extension tubes. Processed in photoshop CS3.

  • The final in this series.. Back watching the ladybirds from Mt Burr again today. As the sun finally came out after days of crisp cold and rain they began to move about, climb and eventually take off for places unknown. Watching them today I couldn’t help but think of how many lessons they could teach. This one showed me that often you just have to keep on flapping and eventually it will happen…takeoff… There are many defining moments in our lives. Let them define you or flap hard and define them yourself….. What amazing creatures they are! Canon 400D 18-55 with two stage extension tubes. Processed in photoshop CS3.

  • This is a first of its kind for me.. Found some time to play.. I liked the fog and ferns.. Then I thought a rising lotus to bring out a thought of hope for mother earth.. There is so much talent out there for this type of special edit art.. I am just starting to crawl but will work down the road to play again.. Hope you enjoy.. For linaji A misty morn with growing light. Watching a single lotus take its flight. I dream of days when things are right. A world of love to hold me tight. No war or pain nor fear of fight. Oh rise dear lotus to the highest height. Become the dream I’ll dream this night. William ( Chuck ) Rewalt A Dream To Share
