The mist around the trees was so beautiful yesterday morning, and everything felt so peaceful, I couldn’t resist a couple of textures and overlays to help create the feeling. Original photograph with grunge texture overlay, colour and levels adjustments. Featured in Red Bubble Home Page, April 2009

At the base of Navajo Falls, spirits like this come and go with the ever changing additions of minerals in the water and the destruction of the random floods. Moss and ferns become their robes. This one looked me in the eye.

Photoshop and Wacom tablet. I used a photo for the background and painted the rest using references.
Haven’t had a decent shot for ages and saw this in the garden pm. I find it really hard to get the center of these fronds in focus but was pleased with this one, especially with the background so blurry. / Sony A200 f2.8, ex 1/100, ISO 100 f.l 100mm (macro lens) spot meter, no flash. / Taken in my garden in Innisfail North Queensland.

This is a great walk to go and do! It’s not to hard and you see beautiful things the whole way! How to get there… Commencing from the Leura Cascades Picnic Area make your way to the information board from which you will observe a concrete pathway descending to the left. Follow the pathway as it travels beside the bubbling Leura Cascades creek. You will approach a small footbridge, at this there will be an intersection, you will note a weathered signpost indicating the direction of Leura Cascades, from this point head downhill to the Cascades. As you descend the fern covered stairs (handrails for support) to the Cascades you will hear the sounds of rushing water as the creek picks up speed. At the bottom, the Cascades are best viewed from beneath a rock cave looking back up the Cascades. A brief sidetrack can be made from the Cascades by following the path for a short distance to a lookout directly above the Bridal Veil Falls. Return to the picnic area via the same pathway.
