  • The previous owners of our property left an old metal fence in a rough heap on the edge of the woods…we went to move it a few years ago only to find it full of snakes! They LOVE it! They climb all through it to sun themselves throughout the day…so it’s still there, acting as a habitat for them, the birds love to perch on it as well. The ground below it is riddled with holes and has become part of the nests. Go figure! lol!! ;] It’s always a sure sign that Spring has sprung when these guys show up! The even skirt the remaing patches of snow in the shady spots to get to a spot to sun themselves! We have a tree enclosed property an the snow takes awhile to melt with shady bit’s! We live in Norwood Ontario Canada.

  • (Dip pen and calligraphy brush to cartridge paper) From my children’s story “Once Upon A Winter’s Turning”, originally published by Wooden Books. The tale features a young lad from Kernow called Drew Widdershins. When a dose of the flu looks like it’s going to scupper the village’s Winter Solstice celebrations Drew, along with the stones from the local stone circle on the moor, must track down the ingredients for his mother’s heal-all herbal remedy. This book has been out of print for some time now, so I’ve decided to offer those illustrations from the book that would make ideal greetings cards or prints. / Also available as a greetings card / Also available: Drew Widdershin’s Magic Calendar
