Women influence the universe around me.
The first in a three part series exploring the juxtaposition of a Kewpie Doll head onto the body of The Venus of Willendorf. The background symbolises hopeful beginnings, the prehistoric valley where the sculpture was found. The dawn of history with so much potential . The figure symbolises the waste of womens potential through history. From the powerful presence of the Willendorf sculpture whose gaze is self regarding to the beseeching gaze of the kewpie doll. This “venus” looks hopeful but culture renders her plastic and infantile.
“Prozac babe” depicts the wasteland of spirit when a womens potential remains untapped. This painting was the second in a series using “The venus of willendorf” as inspiration. As I explain in the note attached to my painting “Venus as a doll” This figure represents perverted potential. “Prozac Babe” alludes to the emptiness felt when the self isn’t honoured , The pills are palliatives that cushion and obscure unhappiness.
Silk-painted using the gutta serti technique and fibre-reactive dyes.
Feminisation of the female symbol.
This digital illustration was first hand drawn with marker on paper and then it was digitally finished and the photo background (wall) was added.

- Fantasy Band - The three members of Plaguenymph, a band formed by Club Epris’s manager Strytch. / The band consists of: / Strytch on vocals and guitar, Annalore on the bass and backup vocals and Krithlyn on the synth and drums. Strytch isn’t her real name, but she is yet to tell anyone what it actually is. Nobody is sure where she came from, only that she runs Club Epris, is the lead vocalist and guitarist of Plaguenymph and doesn’t take shit from anyone. Strytch started the club as a place for supporters of Wyrmwreyn, and the parasites (with hosts) themselves to enjoy some relaxation separate from the ongoing war. She’s violently protective of her girls, both in her band, and in her staff. Most of the Wyrmwreyn girls can hold their own, but that doesn’t make her any less aggressive towards anyone trying their luck. Annalore was a rebellious teen back in her youth. Dir’ht has no minimum tattoo age, so from puberty onward she collected an embarrassing amount of tattoos from butterflies, spiders and ivy, to tattooed garters. These days, after an accident seperating her teen-self from her adulthood she’s rarely seen with anything uncovered, instead draped in leather. So her tattoos are no problem. / Cold, misanthropic and with a continuous superiority complex, Annalore isn’t the most understanding girl out there. I believe Krithlyn to be a symbol of hope for the Wyrmren, an example of a misunderstood being, rising to some form of status in a cold world. There are few musicians in the city, attention being focused on rebuilding, managing, fighting, providing food and other necessities that would not be needed as strongly if the NDC were less demanding of it’s own citizens in a war that could have already been well over and a refurbishment that is beyond anyone’s requirements but their own. She’s well able to play drums and synth, an interesting sight for all to watch, even the other Wyrmwreyn. The synth is often placed behind her, and drums in front to allow her to play from both sides of her body.
